From Taiwan Tea Crafts

This tea is one of the nicest surprises we’ve had in selecting our winter high mountain teas as well as one that wasn’t expected due to its late find in early December. We certainly didn’t feel we needed another high mountain tea in our selection but when we tasted it, we simply couldn’t pass it up! This is the very last Lot produced by this lovely garden nestled between the Shanlinxi and Alishan growing areas. In fact, teas from this garden are very often sold as Alishan tea. This is the price to pay when your area doesn’t have the same reputation as the neighbouring one! We believe this Lot will certainly help the case of puting Sancengping on the map! Situated at the intersection of three counties (Nantou, Yunlin and Chiayi), the tea from this area seems to borrow all the best from its more reputed neighbouring terroirs. It has the Alpine freshness and crispness that one often finds in Shanlinxi teas as well as the body and round sweet tangy mouth feel typical of Alishan teas. The floral component of this tea is rich and intricate and filled with the subtle last bursts of sweet aromas that are drenched by the golden sunlight of our Taiwanese winters. It is rich rather than being brash. Exactly what one wishes to drink when seeking solace in the golden rays that can only be found in a tea cup at this time of the year. A wonderful discovery. We hope it is the same for you!
