I found this at a British speciality store yesterday in Freeport. Its really a very nice assam tea. Its brisk, robust and malty. The tea is more astringent than the assam teas I have been drinking but that really doesn’t take away from the malty taste. This tea is similar to Mark T. Wendells assam and doesn’t compare at all to Mountain Malt. This tea would make a great addition to a blend for iced tea.

This tea gets better each time I drink it. Maybe I’m just getting used to it, not sure. Its a very good assam tea, not fantastic, but good. The tea is brisk and robust with a little astringency. A nice tea.

This is a nice tea for breakfast. Its strong and malty, not fantastic but good. This is the only assam left in my cupboard and now its gone. Its a disaster, I need to order more assam teas. At least I still have plenty of yunnan teas. I’ll survive.

This is a decent assam with a little astringency. Its robust and brisk without being too bitter.

The tea has a bit of too-fine tea dust in it, which would leak through my strainer into the cup and make it horribly bitter, but shaking the tea in the dry strainer for a bit removes that problem. After steeping for 4 minutes, it produces a satisfying cup, with a slight but nearly unnoticeable bitterness at the end. A full, round flavor that takes a drop of milk very well.
