Wild Sweet Orange

I got this tea for very cheap, 2000 (yes, you read that right….two thousand) tea-bags for $120 including shipping. I make most of my teas iced unless it’s cold weather.

I make this tea as an iced tea, using hot water from the spigot. I use a half gallon glass container and 7 tea-bags. 6 was too weak, 8 was a bit strong. 7 seems to be the magical number.

I leave the tea-bags in the jar, in the fridge, until its’ all been consumed.

It does taste a little tart and I can taste the mint, but not too strongly. I smell the mint more than I can taste it.

I fill a quart jar with ice and pour this over and I find it refreshing, light and delicious. Sometimes I mix it with another herbal tea or some black or green tea, just whatever I have in rotation at the time. It can be a bit astringent if you drink too much of it, but it’s pretty light and tasty.

I like it and would recommend it.

This tea is horrible. Bitter. Chemical. Sour. Weird aftertaste of spearmint and windex. And I have 18 bags of it I have to finish.

I thought I’d rated this before?…hmm, I guess not. The hibiscus in this makes it super tart! You know that kind of tartness that grabs you in the back of the mouth and pinches? Yeah, it’s that powerful. But once the tartness dies down (after the swallow), the aftertaste is a pleasant, sweet, orange, herbal flavor. I get hints of mint and lemongrass, but the orange and hibiscus rule the cup.

I also have to add that when I poured the water over the bag, no color leaked out for a good 20 seconds! I thought I had added cold water for a moment. It really caught me off guard. But once it started steeping properly, the liquor became a rich orange and the aroma was orange and lemongrass. This isn’t bad! A nice cuppa enjoyed at work. :)

I had this tea on Sunday ( March 23rd)

Dry Leaf: the tea is in a tea bag, so I couldn’t see much. In terms of smell, the tea gave off a minty and licorice-y scent with hints of lemon grass and citrus. The scent was soothing.

Steeped: The smell changes when steeped, it makes it more licorice-y. The water is nice and yellow. The taste is also strong in the licorice sense, and there was also a sour overtone. I am sort of on the fence about this tea.

Caffeine-Free/Decaf Traveling Tea Box

I brewed 8oz of this with 1 bag and then put it in the fridge to cool. My first thought was, why did they take something that smelled absolutely delightful in the bag and make it into something so gross?! Maybe if you like licorice you’ll enjoy this, but cold it tastes like orange and licorice which is not a great combination. Plus, who decided to put spearmint in it? Because everyone loves the toothpaste + orange juice taste. No, just no.

The only way this was palatable was adding a boatload of sweetener. These bags will be heading on their way!

I love this tea. I sweeten it quite a bit, though.

I had this tea this morning when I had to get up early for a work meeting on a Sunday. I added sweetener, because I wanted a sweet kick to wake me up. I liked the tea. I am surprised that people are so against this tea. I would have to absolutely hate a tea to give it such low marks, but to each their own and everyone’s tastes are different.

Not that bad!
After I ordered this tea, I read the reviews on here and I was expecting the worst. I brewed a couple cups, added a bit of sweetener, let it cool and iced it. Maybe its because I added sweetener (I brewed about 6 cups and I only used 2 tbs of Truvia) but it was not sour at all! If i could describe the taste, I would say that it tastes like Tang with a bit of a lemongrass and a bit of bitterness from the orange peels. All in all, I personally prefer passion tea from Tazo but this one is not too bad.

Tangy and fruity and slightly acidic. Apparently I’m going against the grain but…I drink it all the time. It’s great hot, I like it iced. I agree with reviewers who say that it’s very tart, but I actually like that. It’s great on a second brew as well. This is great as a little pick-me-up in the middle of the workday. I never add any kind of sweetener to it as I find it to have just the right amount of sweetness. Lots of great orange flavor.

Okay so I like really sour things.
Like “i suck on lemons” sour.

So, as it may not surprise you, I loved this tea. Super tart and refreshing, I feel like it would be a good tea for kids. It’s like juice, but without sugar added!

No connoisseur would like this, that’s for sure.
