Black Tea by Tazo

A breakfast tea of boldness, depth and character, invigorating any time of the day. This eye-opening black tea blend has a full, rich flavor, with hints of dark caramel, malt and black cherries. Perfect with milk.

Great tea that lives up to its name. Is very strong, so for those of you that don’t like stronger teas, I would stay away. Many complain of the taste, but be careful on how you brew it. Follow the instructions many others have used: very hot/boiling water and low steep time.

I love English Breakfast tea, it’s the tea that my mom always made me and my sister when we were younger. This brand, however, is not my favorite. It’s not BAD, but I’ve noticed that there really is no room for mistakes when steeping this one — it goes bitter very quickly if you’re not careful. Still, when I want English Breakfast, and this is the only stuff in the cabinet, I won’t say no.

Mm, best bagged black tea on the market in my humble opinion!

A light and sweet breakfast tea. Hard to make this one go bitter. I like this one plain or sometimes with a bit of sugar and cream.

I was hoping for it to live up to it’s name this morning for work, but it didn’t. To me it tastes like regular black tea.
Yes, almost done with my Tazo sampler pack…only a few more and then it’s to the nice loose teas I bought at Lupicia.

This is the first tea that I drank that got me hooked on tea. I bought it at a Starbucks, for more than I should have paid for it, and was instantly surprised. Great taste, good mixture of milk and sugar (though I prefer honey). I loved it. Although I still like a good cup of coffee (preferably Starbucks) I am a tea guy now!

Not my favourite breakfast tea, but not bad.

This is currently my favourite tea… nice and strong! Needs sugar. Absolutely ruined by oversteeping (forgot it for fifteen minutes once and could hardly drink it).

This is one of my go-to teas. My husband works for Starbucks, so we almost always have it in the house. I drink my tea English-style, milk and sugar, and that works very well in this tea. And it does wake you up, as the name implies. It’s pretty much an English Breakfast blend (which they’re subtitling it now).

Caffeine, that pretty much sums it up. This is a strong tea, among the strongest black teas I have ever tasted. As for the taste— meh… blander than any Twinings black tea, and most other major brands. But you didn’t really walk into Starbucks and expect them to serve you a really wonderful cup of TEA??? Right, you didn’t.

I steeped it for a bit longer than I originally intended to, but the end result wasn’t nearly as bad as expected. A little bit of sugar took the edge off of the bitter aftertaste; other than that, it was most certainly robust and definitely something I’ll be willing to try again (though maybe at a shorter steep time). Overall, a good morning tea.

This tea is bold and strong. I use it mostly if a caffeine boost is needed through the day. I enjoy the taste of this tea. It can become bitter if steeped for too long.

This is defiantly a morning tea. I know it gets a bad rep for being harsh and slightly bitter, but this tea is a great alternative for people who don’t want to drink coffee in the morning.

I recommend drinking it with evaporated milk and sugar. It gives it a creamy texture that you don’t get with 2% milk and makes the flavour softer. I really like it when I’m on the go and don’t have time for breakfast.

I can never drink this plain. Today I had it with creamer only, smooth.

There’s something weird about the flavor. I can’t put my finger on it! Goes great with milk, honey, and captain crunch.

Sharp, bitter, and thoroughly decent. I wasn’t able to pick out any fancy caramel, malt, or cherry flavors through the astringency, but maybe others have more luck. I don’t find that milk or sugar make a lot of difference in the drinking experience, so I’ll take it with or without.

It’s a step below a good English or Irish Breakfast, that’s for sure. But it’s drinkable. I keep a box at work with me because it’s one that I don’t mind sharing.

I think this tea has a lot of potential if treated right. You have to find the perfect steep time because this one is not forgiving if accidentally steeped too long, it becomes very very bitter.

Overall I really enjoy this tea in the morning before class, a quick caffeine boost to start the day.

Can’t say it was very great. I don’t like breakfast teas anyway. There was little to no flavor. I’d like to know what sorts of black tea they put into it.
