…and for the last of the lemon squares, this mixed w a sachet of Tazo Vanilla rooibos. I was concerned that the sweet/tart flavor was going to be a bit much with the lemon squares which have their own sweet/tart thing going on, but the fruitiness of the tisane saved the pairing. The Vanilla Rooibois took the Passion down a notch (it’s so absurd writing a tea log with a tea named Passion!!) and rounded all those super tart edges (especially when it’s tart!). Definitely the least favorite of the three pairings (oy, and pairing! This is making me turn reddish purple like this tisane!), but still yummy.

I plan to buy milk on my way home from work this evening so I can go back to my regularly scheduled milky evening tea extravaganzas!

Chai Kaimera

This is great! (Also @teatime traveler why can I not “heart” comments?!)

At least you didn’t pair it with Tazo’s English breakfast blend, that would really Awake your Passion. ;)

I just needed to stop in and give the “number” a nod and a boost.
I had this again at my Auntie’s for Thanksgiving.
I first had given it a lower rating based on the fact the resteep is not really drinkable.
BUT~ I TRULY love this tea!
I am now out of the samples my Auntie gave me, and I must purchase some.
Wondering how this will taste (iced) come Summer?

jeweledthumb

This is my absolute favorite iced!!!

CelebriTEA

Thank you, I will have to try it that way :-)

WAVERLYROOT

Yes, I love drinking this cold. One teabag is plenty to make a refreshing and beautiful alternative to plain water.

Yet another tea from the GCTTB.

Ok this is tart – I think I’ve been craving tart all evening and just not finding it. This is tart tropical fruits. I like it – ok I really like it – or I’m just really in the mood for it tonight.
For a bagged tea, this is more flavorful than I was expecting. Yep I would be perfectly happy drinking this again.

mewakeling

You can get it loose too at Teavana. Passion berry is the same tea.

Sil

This plus lemonade make me happy in thr summer as a cold brew

CelebriTEA

I love it too…I bet it would be yummy with some lemon bars :-)

Sipdown, 172. Hot, unsweetened hibiscus? No thanks. But cold, lightly sweetened hibiscus (with some spices and a few other fruits that don’t do a ton in this but are slightly there)? Pretty yummy. I find sweetened hibiscus iced tea so refreshing, and this was a great for that purpose. Mango and/or passion fruit, not so much, but still tasty, and the spices in this add a little something.

Sil

This plus lemonade = yes cold

Dinosara

That was the original plan but then we ran out of lemonade so I drank it by itself. Pretty tasty nonetheless.

Stephanie

I do enjoy this one cold in the summer time :)

I feel like I’m never going to get through this box. What was I thinking when I bought this? I just do not like herbal blends anymore, especially hibiscus-heavy ones like this. Anyway, I made it iced and sweetened, and drank it when I first got up today.

Does anybody want the rest? It’s still good and I have 9 individually-wrapped bags left. You don’t even have to trade me anything. Just let me know and I’ll mail ’em in an envelope. I really hate to waste tea!

Lol, you can send it to me! Like you, I also prefer the herbals and I’d be more apt to drink those then this. In fact if not for the sample pack I got I would never have bought this on my own..But I like this. The first sip ever I thought wtf uh oh..but I sweetened it and yum. I can’t wait to try it iced! If you still have this I’d be happy to send you a postage paid envelope :) Let me know , Jodie [email protected]

Let’s start with the name. I’m a sucker for evocative names, and how can you argue with Passion? Who doesn’t want to feel that? It would be a real bummer to hate something with this name.

Second, the look and smell of the “full leaf” sachet bags is quite pretty. And the color of the brewed tisane is pretty amazing. Deep reddish purple, very wine-like.

But rose hips and hibiscus. I was afraid, I was very afraid. Because they can really ruin things for me, but somehow they worked in this.

I’m sure I have had passion fruit or at least its juice, but I can’t as I sit here remember what it tastes like. I made this with two bags in about 14-16 oz of water and unsweetened, the dominant taste in the infusion was of unsweetened black cherry juice. A surprising discovery as there is nothing cherry or even berry listed among the ingredients, but a pleasing one.

I decided to sweeten it up a bit to see what difference that made. OMG — grape juice! Seriously, it’s just like warmed grape juice, with a slight raisiny note.

Its shapeshifter qualities make this drink quite interesting, and while it’s not something I would make a daily habit of drinking, it’s unique enough to earn a place in my cabinet, at least when the cabinet isn’t full to bursting with things I like better.

I’m revisiting this tea for the first time since I had it in college. I didn’t much like it then, and I like it even less now. It smells as fruity and yummy as I remember, but it is far more sour. It goes beyond the usual tartness of hibiscus. For some reason, Tazo saw fit to add citric acid to the ingredient list. WHY??? The sour is now at a harsh chemical level. I can’t even taste anything else except for how sour it is.

TeaBrat

that sounds painful

Mercuryhime

I guess they expect you to sweeten this a great deal, but I’m usually a fan of sweetened tea unless it’s a chai or something desserty.

ashmanra

By itself, bleh. Mixed with orange juice, you get something that tastes like guava juice. I bought it to mix with lemonade for one of my daughters who liked it at Starbucks.

I don’t think I’ll ever have this tea hot – one of the reasons I bought it was to make my own Passion Tea Lemonade. Toss in a bit of tangy sour lemonade with this and a bit of rock sugar and you have yourself a party! :)

Aww, somebody brought me tea! I mean, sure, it’s tart and hibiscusy and oddly makes me think of cinnamon, but dude, somebody brought me tea! Yay!

Jillian

Hey, it’s the thought that counts, right? :)

Batrachoid

Awesome amiability. Feel better Auggy. =)

LENA

awww…very cool.

Auggy

Totally the thought that counts – because this tea really isn’t good! But each sip gave me warm fuzzies so it was so worth it! It made me smile on a really bad day! (And I’m still smiling – and feeling better-ish so double yay!)

I was absolutely obsessed with this tea throughout college. I haven’t had it in ages, due to my tastes refining a bit… but this tea if great for new tea drinkers, my friends all love it, and I’ve also found it works well (or better) when combined with other teas.

I used to combine it with rooibos or berry teas. Then I added honey, and the result was a juicy delight, enjoyable hot or cold.

If you want to give it a try for yourself, I recommend combining this teabag with a bag of Madagascar Vanilla Red [Rooibos]. It rounds out the flavour of the Passion Tazo Tea, making it less tart.

I like what Ricky mentioned with the Passion Tea Lemonade too! That sounds really tasty.

I like it combined w/ ginger green or Zen. And I bet it’d be good w/ orange blossom.

Ricky

This is definitely a tea that needs something sweet to counter. Now I’m tempted to buy a box and mess around with it. No, no. I have to finish my Tazo Joy tea first.
