From Tea Classico

The original Lapsang Souchong is produced by the specified tea cultivar (Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong) which originated from Tongmu village (桐木村 Tong Mu Guan) that is part of Xingcun Township (星村鎮 Xingcun Zhen) at Wuyi Shi (武夷市) of Fujian Province (福建省). We are particularly focusing on the authentic Lapsang Souchong black tea produced in the Tongmu area, which is located at the national nature preserved park of Wuyi Mountain at Fujian Province. The high mountains with its dense pine forests and heavy mist provide the ideal natural environment for growing top quality tea. The best Lapsang is produced only there. In addition, we choose the EuroFins laborotory tested organic tea as standard. Our original Lapsang Souchong has a very distinctive flavor of dried Longan fruits, cocoa in addition to a gentle smoky flavor. The secret is in roasting process using the charcoals produced from pine trees. The tight control of the fire that is called Wen Huo (文火, smoldering fire) is the most critical factor in producing this tea. The real Lapsang Souchong is rare as Wuyi Mountain growing area is very small and there is a great demand for this tea. There is a significant difference between real Lapsang Souchong black tea from Tongmu and widely available artificially flavored commercial grade tea.
