Bitter, not really my taste.
During WWII, toasted husked rice was added to tea leaves to extend the supply. Now because of its mellow smooth taste, the rice is added by request. Also known as ‘popcorn’ tea due to some of the rice grains popping, it is served at many Japanese restaurants.
