Sipdown!! (203)

Thank you JennyFur for this blend. Although tbh, I won’t be missing it now that it is gone. The vegetal base is just too prominent for my liking. The cherry and marzipan flavors are nice but left to compete with the overpowering base.

I did end up returning to EcoDenizen, as their prices are very similar to Tea Forte’s online ones. It would actually be cheaper for me to get my teas there because of the website’s shipping charges. But sadly, they don’t carry any of the black teas or chai I’m after.

So this is a green and rooibos blend? That’s certainly new to me. But strangely, it works. The cherry compliments the green, while the almond compliments the rooibos. And I’m really liking the cherry. Plus, the rooibos gives it a little boost of strength that almost reminds me of a black tea. It leaves a bit of bitterness in my mouth, but I like that in a tea.

My only regret is steeping it for three minutes. The packaging said three to five minutes, but I erred on the side of caution. Four minutes next time, to see if more fruit flavors come out.

This is the first that I’ve tried from Tea Forte’s skin smart line. It is sweet and pleasantly tart, with a lovely cherry/berry taste. The almond tastes sweet and nutty.

Overall a very tasty cup of tea. I love that I can taste the green tea. It tastes fresh and crisp. The rooibos isn’t a strong flavor, but lends some nutty tones to the almond flavor.

Cherry Almond teas that I’ve tried in the past have been black teas, I like that this one is a green tea. Tasty!

I love cherry, and I love marzipan (or amaretto-flavored things) … have any other recommendations that you can think of with teas with these flavors?

Oh…this is fun! This has semi-tart-sweet cherries without it being too tart and a semi-grassy green tea base PLUS a nutty-sweet almond taste trying to hide underneath. Fairly candy-like and fruity-fun! YUM!

I hope you don’t mind that I updated product info, and picture of the tea. From your Tealog page it looks normal, but if you click on the tea, the pic is off. I even cropped it with Nero 8, but it still didn’t upload neatly. The actual picture was really small from website, so maybe that’s why it didn’t upload & center properly.

sounds lovely

Mmm… tasty tea! I totally oversteeped this one. It was very astringent. I’m sure that if I had done a proper job, it would be way tastier. The cherry flavor is strong and a lot like dried cherries. The marzipan flavor is a bit weaker but still very present and very tasty! The green tea is crisp and grassy. Very nice.

I usually don’t do a second steep on bagged teas, but I did with this one and it was very pleasant. The green tea flavor is all but gone, but the cherry marzipan flavor is still going strong. Yum!

OVerall, this tea reminds me of cherry cordial candies. I always thought they were too sweet, but now I can indulge in the flavor without all the sugar. Nice!

This is another sample from Tea Forte’s Skin Smart lineup. Overall, this one is pretty good. I can taste the slightly sweet cherry and the almond creates a dry (but not astringent) note. This is definitely drinkable without sweetener and I’m glad that I got to try this one!

My second from Tea Forte’s Skin-Smart sampler. It smells amazing in the bag. Sweet, nutty, tasty. In my cup, not so much. I think perhaps, that these particular tea bags just need to be steeped longer. I tasted both the cherries and the almonds. The cherries were sweet, juicy, with a little tartness. The almonds were sweet, smooth, and nutty. The green tea provided a nice backdrop for both. I think I could really dig this tea if the flavor was bigger but it just wasn’t that impressive a cup. Maybe I could sprinkle the tea around my house and make the house smell awesome…

The score was bumped to a 70 after some seriously long steeping.

Thank you Alphakitty! I was excited to try this tea. The aroma of this tea is heavenly. I love the flavors. I can catch some cherry, berry, and almond flavors. It reminds me of a cherry/almond cookie. Mmmm :) thanks again!

The scent of the leaves is so alarmingly sweet, it sort of reminds me of biting into a chocolate covered cherry; such a decadently fruity aroma mixed with green tea and subtle nutty almonds.

The liquor is a light copper tone, and a little cloudy. But the aroma is still very cherry, with a stronger hint of almond and less of green tea. Very interesting.

Once it hits your lips, the flavor is a very subtle and smooth almond, with the strong cherry following. The green tea gives a nice slight astringency, but this is all cherry and almonds.

I am not sure why, but I have Grizzly Bear’s new album playing in my head as I am sipping this. I’m not complaining, it’s just a little strange.

This blend is very balanced and satisfying, but it is the aroma that is the star; very festive, lush and beautifully sweet.

Bought this one on a whim & it turned out to be okay. The cherry flavor is mild & not overbearing. The marzipan or almond flavor is good; also not too strong. Together they play well.

I like the green tea base. It’s pretty good.

Overall, not a bad tea…..but nothing to rave about. And I won’t lose sleep if this isn’t in my home at all times.
