My first tea with yuzu in it! And forgive me if I’m describing it funny, I have no clue what it’s supposed to taste like.

The bag smells like real honey, but also something very sour and sort of fruity. It’s a confusing scent. Part of me wants to taste it, and the other part of me wants to wash my hair with it. As it steeps, the water changes to a sunny yellowish tan and smells more like toasted fruit, maybe lemon. Really trusting you here, Tea Forte!

The flavor is surprisingly pleasant after a little sweetener. Sure, it’s a little strange, but it’s basically like a lemon and honey green tea. Only the lemon is yuzu, maybe yuzu peel. I believe the bee pollen is what’s making the honey aspect seem toasty. As usual with Tea Forte’s flavored greens, the actual tea aspect is buried and hard to detect. All that’s there is a bit of bitterness in the finish. But this isn’t as terrible to me as it seems to have been for other Steepsterites. I wouldn’t buy it again, since it’s not really my thing, but it’s not awful.

Dry – this smells like just-out-of-the-hive HONEY and hairspray.

while brewing it smells like green tea and a bit of honey and herbs.

This is rather strange…it seems I am drinking something comparable to pepper water and not a good kind of pepper. As it cools the pepper flavors change to a stale-type-honey.

Meh.

Sorry…can’t do it.

From the Traveling Tea Box

Hmmm, not bad, but not memorable, either. Smells like honey! Nice. A little fruity – I am not familiar with yuzu so I am assuming this is it.

The tea in the cup is cloudy – I think from the honey or bee pollen? – and golden. The flavor is not bad, not stellar. I would not buy this, but if someone offered me a cup on a cold day or when I had a sore throat, I would take it. It probably tastes best to thse who add honey or sugar to their tea. Fn to try, though, and I think this is only my second ever Tea Forte tea!

I thought this would be one of my favorites. Not so much. :( I’m not sure what it is I’m tasting, but is certainly isn’t anything close to honey (it smells like honey at least). I had hoped it would be sweet but instead it is turning out pretty bitter. Oh well – sip and learn.

This tea is part of the skin-smart antioxidant amplifier tea that is being used as special reserve green tea with the bright exotic citron flavor of yuzu sweetened with full blossom bee pollen.

Steeping Instructions:
Bring freshly drawn, cold water to a near boil
Placed filter bag in cup
Slowly pour water over filter bag and allow steeping for 3-5 minutes.

This tea conjures wonderful aroma in the cup; the citron flavor yuzu settles or is dispensed and settled at the cup’s bottom; as if one were to take a spoon of honey and pour it into the cup.

I managed to get three steeps out of this teabag to keep consistent with original flavor: citrons with honey layering throughout. Once brewed the liquor is so enticing, warm golden color in the cup inviting one to cozy up and relax.

It is like what is stated on tea bag: Green tea for natural renewal; as this is a sampler I would need more than one tea bag to further experience this renewal.

This tea will be put on my wish list for future purchase.

One other thing to note; the teabags are like traditional tea bag with strings and leaf tag depicting the Tea Forte image. Previous samples used pyramid sachets which I did not like.

I agree with those that compared this to the old remedy of hot tea with lemon and honey. It is incredibly soothing. Not my favorite from Tea Forté, but it is tasty enough that I’m able to enjoy and finish the cup. The honey tones are delicate, as is the flavor of the green tea. The citrus flavor, on the other hand is well-pronounced. It tastes like a fusion of many citrus fruits rather than a focus on just one.

I feel really guilty. I drank this while I was sick because I thought the citrus and honey combo would be good for my throat. Well, it made me feel better, but I have no idea what this tea tasted like. Now I really wish I had drunken something else because I’m really curious! Too bad I only had the one bag. I’ll bet it was good!

What an interesting flavor. It tastes a bit like the blond colored jujube candies…ya know…the ones that stick to your teeth and almost pull them out. A one-of-a-kind memory. Even the color is right. Smells just a tad soapy like shampoo but not enough to put you off so you gag. I went further on the steeping and sweetening and it was better for me. This may be a “healthy tea drink” but sweethearts, it needs more HONEY to put it where it needs to be. Rework it please Tea Forte! Could be so much better. Flavor is weak.

This was a free sample from teaforte thank you so much. This is a pretty good tea the yuzu is there and abit tart with a nice bit of honey and the pleasant green tea. I thought this was pretty good I added sugar but wished the tea had abit more honey taste then the yuzu because the fruit is just not one of my favorites. Overall though still a good tea.

Perhaps I oversteeped this; though I stayed within the recommended parameters.

There was honey, and there was green tea, and there was citrus – but the honey faded as it cooled and the citrus and green tea got kind of bitter. Wasn’t my favorite.

this tea would be great if you’re not feeling well, it reminds me of the honey and lemon tea my mom used to give me when I was sick. it is very citrusy, but I didn’t taste much green tea or honey flavor. the citrus masked everything. I’d probably just keep it around for days when I’m under the weather.

Thanks again to Tea Forte for these samples. Unfortunately, I haven’t had anything from them that I would purchase on my own.

Admittedly this was likely my fault this time. I should know better than to rely on a keurig to produce water that’s the right temperature for green tea but at work I don’t have many options and I bring any and all bagged tea to work.

I decided to have this one because I feel like I might be coming down with a cold: scratchy throat, runny nose…fun stuff.

There’s just not much flavor here. A slight sweetness (that went weird with the addition of calorie free sweetener) but that’s about it.

I have to say thank you for Tea Forte for sending me these teas! This is one of two of the last samples that I have from this line.
I must admit that the smell of this scares me. For some reason it smells peppery to me. I don’t know if this was because it picked it up somewhere or if that’s just its nature. I do love honey but honey/lemon flavors remind me of episodes of terrible throat drinks when I was a child. shudder
The brew still smells odd to me. It doesn’t have too much honey flavor for me. In fact for me it just tasted overpowering. I hate giving teas bad reviews but this is not something I would purchase. I was pretty disappointing since the other flavors I sampled were so wonderful. :( sad tea day.

This is the 3rd review in a series of six Skin Smart Beauty Tea Samples

Experience buying from Tea Forté: Good. Website is very colorful and easy to navigate. Sent free samples after responding to an invitation on Steepster. Package came in reasonable amount of time. Other than sending my address, no e-mail or phone contact.

Age of leaf: Unknown. Steeped within weeks of receiving.

Packaging: Colorful: each tea came attached to a colorful paper backing labeled as a "Skin Smart” sampler. Each tea bag comes in standard tea bag packaging, with a picture of the flavors that the tea replicates prominently displayed on it. The tea bags themselves look like standard paper teabags with a small Tea Forté label and string attached to the bag by a staple.

Dry leaf: odd, but pleasant smell, like the smell of new clothes (cotton, perhaps from the bag itself?)

Brewing guidelines:
……………1st (and only): 182, 4’

Aroma: pleasant, but I can’t place it.

Color of liquor: honey colored!

Flavor: It has a very interesting and unusual flavor, with honey running around in there somewhere. I liked it.

Value: I am grateful for the free sample (thank you Cindy at Tea Forté!), but their price on their website is more than I would be willing to pay if I purchased it.

Overall: Although it was difficult for me to pin down the flavors, it was the best tasting teabag in this series so far. It may be that brewing it hotter and longer—than the first two teabags—-is in part what made the difference. This is a tea I would be open to drinking on occasion.

I could not drink this tea. It has a strong tart & astringent taste and literally made my tongue curl. I will not drink this again. I put the rest of the box on the ‘free’ table at work. Hopefully whoever picked it up liked it better than I did!

I wanted to love this tea, but it does not agree with my tastebuds. This is the first box of tea I’ve ever thrown away. It’s like drinking dirt.

Like drinking perfume. That fragrant, too.

I don’t like this tea at all. I thought I would really love this honey based tea, but I don’t taste any honey. It has some odd I can’t even explain taste to it. I’ll finish my cup so I don’t waste it, but I will never buy this again.
