Vienna Cinnamon – Black Tea

Elegant, intoxicating and soul-stirring, like the city itself. The sweetest cinnamon is blended with black tea to create an infusion that will transport you to a lingering afternoon in a Viennese cafe. Its unique, spicy-yet-sweet balance is thoroughly satisfying. Contains caffeine.

Backlog: I had some of this a little earlier today. It was nice. A delicious accompaniment with chocolate. (but then, everything goes better with chocolate, doesn’t it?) Here’s my full-length review on this tea: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/12/12/vienna-cinnamon-from-tea-forte/

E Alexander Gerster

I always enjoy your reviews, and had not thought about Hot Tamales or Red Hots in years! Those used to be some of my favorites when I was young, and this tea indeed sounds like it would go great with chocolate… Maybe the Lindt dark chocolate with Chili? :)

LiberTEAS

Yum… dark chocolate with chili sounds like a winner to me. Thanks for your nice comments!

Nice review. On another note to do with Tea Forte; has anyone received email newsletter on their new release? Those who sampled Tea Forte Skin-Smart Antioxidant amplifier tea should be happy to hear that the Oprah magazine January 2012 Issue is sporting article on the release of this new line; well specifically Cherry Marzipan by Tea Forte (Peter Hewitt, CEO and Founder). See link

It is something to know that we tasters who received sampler from Cindy at Tea Forte did somehow contribute to this success. Nicely done Steepster tasters.

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Water: hot spigot
Steep Time: a little over 2 minutes (and then I went to have a discussion in another cube, not sure how long)
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: cinnamon, natural barky
Steeped Tea Smell: natural cinnamon, sweet
Flavor: black tea and natural cinnamon
Body: Full
Aftertaste: barky, sweet
Liquor: translucent dark red-brown

Delicious, reminds me of Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice.

It came as part of the Tea Forte “Holiday Spice” set of 20 silken infusers black and herbal teas. I purchased it specifically for the Winter Chai. The set listed on the website includes 20 pyramid infusers with Five infusers each of: Winter Chai, Sweet Orange Spice, Ginger and Vienna Cinnamon. Apparently this box does not have Sweet Orange Spice and instead has Winter Spice.

Had this at work yesterday, I’ve transported a small collection of bagged tea there to both get rid of it and enjoy tea at work. This is probably end up with me buying more bagged tea but eh.

Anywho, if you like cinnamon tea this is loaded with it. I love cinnamon in tea but this was almost a bit much (I may have also over-brewed a tad). I could feel the cinnamon swish around in my mouth. It was good but man it had a kick. :)

It’s a decent black tea with cinnamon flavor. It’s good, but not something that I’d invest in.

This tastes exactly like Coco Truffle (also by Tea Forte) minus the cacao. It has the mildly spicy aroma of cinnamon and a nutty flavour. I am surprised that it tastes just as good as Coco Truffle despite the much simpler ingredients. Tea Forte has more impressive teas for sure, but this is a comforting tea after an exhausting day of work. :)

Forte, being a nice quality brand for special collection tea’s, surprised me with this nice tea with a strong but sweet aroma of cinnamon. The tea, in fact, is very good, fresh and strong for someone (like me) that loves green tea. By the second drink from the cup, I was feeling this spicy taste and my nose was exhausted from the strong aroma this tea have, something similar that happends with aromatic teas such as earl grey. Besides all that, this tea is distinguished by his quality taste, but personally (being a green tea lover) i do not like it so much.

This will be the first tea to try in my new Kati tea brewing system from Tea Forte.

The leaves remind me of Tea Forte’s Sweet Orange Spice, which is also very cinnamon-y and festive.

Because the tumbler is smaller than my Starbucks/Bodum double-walled glass, I used only 1 teaspoon of leaves instead of my typical 1.5 – 2 teaspoons.

Steeping gives off a slightly concerning pale cinnamon scent, akin to the pale character of typical teabags, which makes for a more slight disappointment.

The flavor is interesting; there is a very barky spice that tries to follow through, but you also have that underlying pale taste. There is also a dull sweetness, which somewhat improves the pale flavor, but not significantly.

This is not bad, better than your typical teabag, but not on par with how delicious the Sweet Orange Spice surprised me.

More, I need more. It’s so good it almost shouldn’t be true! A cinnamon explosion blended with a beautiful black tea. Sigh, life is good.

Meh. I am still becoming acquainted with better quality teas and trying to decipher exactly what pleases my palette. So, I picked this up on an invitation shopping website—I am a sucker for packaging I guess. It have a very nice aroma, but the flavor is not all that thrilling.

Sweet and Spicy blends scare me sometimes…usually it’s either too spicy OR too sweet. As I steep this the cinnamon scent is pleasant. The coloring is a nice black tea color. The taste…OMG…they ACTUALLY got it right!!! Tea Forte blended the sweet and spicy together beautifully! Neither is overpowering and it’s very nice going down. Good Job, Tea Forte! I applaud you!
