In the mood for a little more tea today! I thought this flavored white would be a nice afternoonish cup. Thanks AGAIN Jaime!)

The pear is lovely, and the white tea is quite nice! I’m not getting ginger, but rather black pepper, which is a little disconcerting paired with the pear. Not entirely unpleasant, but it’s “harshing my mellow” as the kids say. ;) I like it enough to not only finish my cup, but also do a resteep, but I don’t think I’ll run out and buy this particular tea. I would totally try another white tea from Tea Forte, or really any Tea Forte, because I like the tea base and the pear. It’s just the black pepper I mean ginger that I’d stay away from!

Jamie, again, thank you!

EDIT: Oh I forgot to tell you guys about my tea dream! Last night I had a dream where my husband said “It’s so cold in here! We have to go to the mall and get a cup of tea!” and I said "Why do we have to go to the mall?! (I think I’ve already told you all about my aversion to the mall) and he said “To get a cup of tea!” so we went to the mall and everything was closed! I said “Look! It’s so early that all the stores are closed and we can’t get a cup of tea!!” and I woke up!

Here is my Analysis:

tea: I must have REALLY been craving a cup of tea but I projected this desire onto my husband.

mall: ANXIETY! I hate the mall! I think the mall stands for my final project that I am having terrible anxiety about.

cold: this is literal. It’s so cold here and I think I was cold in my sleep! I woke up and all the covers were sort of bunched up around my dog and not on me!!!

so early: It was 4am-ish and I kinda knew that even whilst sleeping ;)

Dry Scent – right out of package – 80% ginger, 20% Pear
During Steep Scent – 70% Pear, 30% Ginger
After Steep Scent – 50/50

Color is a pure yellow with a little tint of brown-ish green

Taste is VERY surprising yet JUST what I wanted out of it! You would have to like Pear to enjoy this. It’s primarily pear with ginger helping it out JUST enough!

As it cools I can taste a little bit of blackberry and the after taste is a sugary-floral linger.

This is MAYBE my favorite from TeaForte SO FAR!!!!

The ginger is popping out more…see previous notes…it’s been a while since I had a cup of this :)

This is a delightful white tea. Tea Forte nailed the apple flavor. The ginger is mild, not too peppery and doesn’t overpower the delicate combination of tastes.

One of Tea Forte’s best, I think!

Backlog: I chose this tea to enjoy with my dinner this evening. It came from their “organics” line, and it was in a classic tea bag rather than the signature Tea Forte pyramid sachet. I have to admit that I found myself preferring the classic tea bag over the pyramid, if for no other reason than the fact that the foil pouch kept the tea tasting fresher than the origami-like folded cardstock packaging for the pyramid.

This is one of my favorites from Tea Forte. The pear is light, the ginger is peppery and it was a pleasing accompaniment to my meal.

The smell of the dry tea bag is ginger-y but sort of a candied ginger rather than straight-up, freshly-chopped gingerroot. Adding water brought out a delicious pear fragrance that reminded me of pear-flavoured hard candies with a hint of warm, spicy ginger.

Tea Fort’s teas have (in my personal opinion) a reputation for looking and sounding fancy but not really having much actual flavour or substance to them. But this tea proved me wrong. It tastes exactly like what it says it will – pear and ginger. The fruity pear dominates with the ginger complimenting it subtly rather than trying to compete with it for my taste buds’ attention. The whole thing is surprisingly sweet, almost like I’d added some sugar or agave nectar to it, and has a faint herbal-floral aftertaste.

I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed this tea and I think it would be a good one to convert someone who’s used to drinking Celestial Seasonings or Lipton to finer teas.

I went for a random tea bag tonight and I wanted a white tea. I don’t know when the last time was that I had a tea bag… I’ve had so many amazing loose teas lately. The instructions on this said almost boiling? No way. I saw the splenda in the bag right away.. it’s like a bright white beacon. I’m lucky I was looking at the steepster page for this tea as I was steeping because I saw blackberry leaves on the ingredients list and ran over to pull the teabag out real quick. Oversteeping blackberry leaves tastes like peptobismal to me. The first taste I’m cringing a bit at the splenda. I think that is supposed to be half the pear flavor. I’m super sensitive to ginger but I don’t find any here. The splenda kind of drowns everything out, but it isn’t terrible. Maybe splenda is why I’m avoiding teabags now.

Got this one as a Christmas present! I think pear and ginger go together really well anyway, so I’m already favorably disposed towards this tea right out of the gate. The smell of the dry leaf is heavy on the ginger, with some fruity sweetness from the pear in the background. I was surprised at how small the leaf particiles were; lots of very small, almost dusty particles, and not many pieces bigger than about 1/4 inch square. The ginger bits are also easy to see, and there are a lot of them.

Smells great, and steeps up to a medium golden brown clear liquor. As far as the tasting, the pear and ginger flavors are superbly balanced. The pear lends its floral sweetness and the ginger its heat and tingle. The tea base is very light, as I’ve come to expect from white teas, but that’s okay. I’m liking how the main players come to the fore.

This was another one sent to me by Jaime! Thanks so much!!!

Let me start off by saying that I don’t really like pear-flavored things. Why? I have no idea. I guess that it’s not really the most rational thing, but I just “think” that I don’t like pear things. However, I am adventurous enough to try pretty much any tea at least once and I do like ginger, so I thought that I would give this one a try.

I totally have to agree with TeaEqualsBliss on this one. Her review for this tea sums up my initial thoughts perfectly when she talks about how the ginger pear ratios change before and after this tea steeps. This is another tea that definitely smells different before and after you steep it. Before I smelled more ginger than pear and after it was all about the pear with some ginger. At first I was like… Uh oh. Pear. But it actually smelled pretty good! The flavors blend together really well in this tea and there is just the slight bite of ginger that makes it interesting. Something pear that I actually like!

As this one cools, I notice the flavors come out more as well. In fact, I tried this as a small glass of iced tea the other day and it was very refreshing! In fact… I was at the AJ’s in town yesterday and saw that they had a few Tea Forte boxes and this was one of them, so I bought a box!

Thanks again Jaime for the sample! This is one that I probably wouldn’t have tried on my own, but I really like it!

This isn’t in one of their pyramid bags, but in an individually-wrapped, classic tea bag. I didn’t know Tea Forte did such things, but when I saw this on sale (buy 1 get 1 free), I went for it.

Now, let me start by saying I’m not a fan of ginger. In fact, I avoid it as much as I can. It just has this horribly stinging taste to me. So when I grabbed this, I really didn’t think I’d like it (but didn’t want two boxes of Green Mango Peach tea).

This tea tastes primarily of pears, and the green, slightly-tart pears at that. Pear flavor is delicious. The ginger isn’t as strong as I had feared, but is still there and stinging my tongue a bit. Much better than what I was expecting. I can’t taste the white tea base at all for the pear flavor (it’s really very strong).

If you like both pear and ginger, this would be a perfect tea for you!

For some reason, this bag is really strong on the ginger today. I’m undecided on how I feel about this.

I have a meeting at 2:30 today that I forgot about. Best part? I’m the one conducting the meeting.

Grabbed this bag out of my work cupboard. The more I drink it, the more I like the ginger in it. Here’s hoping it helps me focus and get my stuff done!!

And…last cuppa!!

My sweet mother got me some of this for when I’d be home over spring break. I must say, its something else. The pear is juicy, sweet with just a little bit of ginger. Its wonderful~

Now just to kick back a bit and sip this, before I head back to school and hell semester begins again in full swing.

I finally got to try this tea, and it’s been one I’ve wanted to for a while, at an upscale restaurant in Northern Virginia. I remember the last time my family and I went there (before I was into tea), my brother got this tea and it smelled amazing. I ordered it this time and it did not disappoint! The waiter loved this tea too – he said it should be made into a gum lol. It is VERY fragrant and is the first tea I’ve had that really tastes like pear. The ginger isn’t overpowering at all. Definitely a win.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a canister of this tea in a store I’ve been meaning to visit but never had the time to. My weekend was a great laid back break from a quite busy week, of course watching Marvel’s The Avengers helped my enjoyment significantly.

My last encounter with ginger pear tea was in a teabag that is sold everywhere, so having ginger pear white loose leaf tea was a treat to find, it was also the only loose leaf tea canister in the store, and the last canister left on the shelf.

The aroma once opened is a beautiful blend of fruity ginger, a very strong ginger with that hint of fruity sweetness. It is an extremely effective scent that fills your nostrils and washes you with a fresh calming feeling.

It is a light amber colored brew, with an even stronger fruity ginger scent. As I tend to always do, I try new teas unsweetened, and this tea does not require any sweetener.

The taste is extremely surprising, given my last encounter with something similar. The ginger gives the base white tea a nice kick, while the fruit naturally sweetens. There are lingering floral flavors, with a bit of blackberry somewhere, but it is mainly pear and ginger flavors that dazzle and shine.

This tea would be a great any afternoon tea. For the price, and with a handsome storage tin, this is a great find.

Love the constant whiffs of juicy pears while going mild on the ginger. Tastes light, a little sweet and slightly floral.

Another sample I picked up at the local gourmet food store. First…others note the strong scent of the dry bag, ginger especially, and I could hardly detect any scent at all. I was fearful that the flavor was going to be flat. I let the bag steep 4 minutes to a sweet light caramel yellow, pour….and the pear scent drifted up like “Ha, fooled you”. The pear flavor is absolutely spot on (had a pear tree growing up in California)…and the ginger is way in the background…not the type you cook with in the shaker bottle, but the fresh ginger you grate or chop that needs a very light touch and has that peppery heat. I taste a slight sweet corn (the new white corn on the cob) flavor also in the middle before the last pear burst.

Oof! This is the most intensely ginger-scented tea I’ve ever experienced, that dry leaf is a knockout. Luckily for those of us who aren’t all in it for the big G, this tea tastes much milder than it smells. The dominant taste is still ginger (especially as it cools), but the peach provides a hint of sweetness and the white tea base adds a pleasant taste as well. I’m not sure what prompted me to buy this, but I’m glad I did!

I came by a free tea forte sampler chest as part of a promotion Microsoft was running, and this was by far my favorite of the 20 flavors I tried. It had a wonderful aroma and it tasted like a sweet, delicious pear. I’m afraid to use my second bag of this tea, because then it will all be gone!

I was craving an iced tea and decided to go for this one, nicely prepared in the Tea Forte’s iced tea brewing pitchers: I added a little bit of sugar syrup on the second glass to taste the difference but it was perfect even without it, tasty yet not too sweet, with the right balance of ginger and pear. It is indeed a very good refreshing option for summer time!

First, this tea was visually appealing and packaged as part of a sampler box (great gift). I love the Tea Forté silk pyramid bags and although the string is a bit short, find that they steep nicely in a large teapot.

The Ginger Pear was mild on the ginger and just right on the pear. This combination can be spicy and overpowering, but I’d say they got it just right. It is a medium amber brew that was perfect for breakfast, and then I re-infused it throughout the day for lunch and afternoon tea.

This tea helps me imagine what it must feel like to be a light and airy summer dress hung out on a clothesline in the back rose garden. Fresh and bright.

Delisshhhhh! very pear-y. I made about 19oz in a plastic on the go like nalgine and let it steep extra long but ive done it in a mug for the proper time and they were both great. One of my favorites

This is a light, subtly juicy tea, perfectly refreshing and with the satisfaction of a true pear, even breaching into summery watermelon territory. Sweet and light, yet full bodied… a fine iced tea.

So, upon opening this package the tea smells about 90% ginger and 10% pear. It’s really potent stuff! I was nervous the first time I tried it, as I thought it’d be too much spice, not enough pear. Luckily, the ginger calms down once it’s brewed. Even the smell changes, with the pear shining through beautifully. The taste is also quite pleasant, and interesting. The pear is nice and natural tasting, while the ginger compliments (not overpowers) it in the most unexpected way. I’m suprised at how pleasant a cuppa this brews. The aftertaste is almost all pear. Not too shabby. This was a nice tea before bed. Nice and calming.
