Papaya Ginger White

Fruit White Blend by Tea Guys

This fusion of white and green tea blended with papaya and pineapple evokes memories of tropical surf, sun and breezes. Each cupful is a healthy taste of sunshine with a touch of ginger.

Another gorgeous blend from Tea Guys, full of so many different pretty colors! This is also another one I only got a sample of, which of course I’m regretting already. I feel another order there coming on soon…

This tea is everything I wanted DT’s Strawberry Ginger to be. It’s light and sweet, with an almost honey-like taste from the white. The ginger is strong but not overpowering, giving the tea a bit of bite. It matches well with the tropical flavors from the papaya and pineapple, which keeps this from being a kind of generic pina colada-esque blend. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but the addition of ginger makes this quite unique!

I didn’t know what type of tea this was prior to brewing. Clearly need to up my tea identification abilities!

The dry leaf smells pleasantly gingery, and maybe a bit fruity. I can’t identify anything in particular though. Steeped, I’m getting a light citrusy ginger scent. Smells good!

Yum! This one is really quite good! The ginger is there, but neither artificial nor overpowering, just adding a bit of a zing, and the tea tastes lightly tropical. I feel like I’m getting a bit of pineapple flavour, not specifically papaya though. Wow… I’m really impressed by the union of the tropical and ginger flavours – usually one or the other is overdone. I can’t really taste the white tea in the blend though – that’s my only complaint. I think I might get a touch at the end of the sip, but it really just tastes like a herbal tea.

This is a very soothing tea; if it would be easy for me to acquire, I think it would be one I’d re-purchase and keep on hand! Although not until I drink down some of what I have…

Thank you LiberTEAS for this delicious sample!

ETA: Oh my. My bad – I steeped this one a second time for WAY too long, and I can taste it. The ginger is overwhelming and spicy (in that gingery way), but there’s still some fruitiness too. I suspect I could get a great second infusion out of it though, done properly. Remember that for next time, Jenna. headshake

Sipdown! This one had lost a bit of flavour, but was still pretty decent. Unfortunately, it got dust/cat hair in it (after my first few sips) so down the sink most of the cup went. Ah well.

Backlog: Wow! I can’t believe I haven’t logged this one before, as it is one of my favorite white teas. I love the fresh fruit flavor of this, the ginger is zesty but doesn’t overwhelm. Just a beautiful medley of tastes. Here is my full-length review of it: http://www.teareviewblog.com/?p=11555

Thank you to LiberTeas for this one. This is a very pretty blend, lots of fruits and if I’m not mistaken, crystallised ginger in the leaf. This brewed up very light and a lovely clear green. It is actually quite refreshing and the ginger gives a nice warmth to the end of the sip
