My love for this tea (and rating) goes up every time I have some. Supply is getting low, making me sad, not going to panic…. really, really not going to panic…. maybe I can stretch it out a bit more……….. staring at TeaFrog … I don’t have any genmai but I do have some cha, can I make my own? Maybe tencha and minute-rice…. not going to panic……..
Genmaicha Organic
Genmaicha is a traditional Japanese Green tea that mixes Sencha tea and roasted brown rice. ‘Genmai’ is Japanese for ‘Brown Rice’ and ‘cha’ is ‘Tea’, together you get Genmaicha – Brown Rice Tea. The quality of Genmaicha is determined by the ratio of rice to tea, and in the case of this blend, there is a very high tea content to rice, allowing you to enjoy the flavour of the Sencha, with the subtle rice undertone.
