From TeaGschwendner

Yunnan Province, the birthplace of tea, is famous for its golden-tipped black teas derived from ancient Assamica variety tea plants. These prizes are among the most intriguing teas you will ever taste – malty, creamy and redolent of truffles. Largely without bite, they reflect the beauty of the complex landscape in which they are cultivated.

Preparation: One heaping teaspoon per 8oz cup of filtered, boiling water. Allow to brew 2 minutes.

Another sample i’ve got from Gschwender here in Trier. Very malty, some similarities to taiwanese Oolongs i have tasted years ago. The advertising is true, a surprisingly complex tea, guess i have to put it on my shopping list, definitely want to explore that one more :)

A well-bodied traditional Yunnan. The missing 4th tradition after ceylon, darjeeling and assam.

A smooth, balanced cup of tea. I found this tea, although good, to lack in flavor, richness and complexity.
