A workhorse CTC loose tea with good malty body. Wakes me up and gets me going for busy day: Science Olympiad, gymnastics, being on call and usual demands for my parental attention every 2 minutes. Helps she shake off my sleepiness from staying up too late watching the news. I’m so relieved that my mother and friends are done with the Boston lockdown and that the city can focus on healing.

It’s cold in Chicagoland today and I thought let’s try something bold and this does the trick every time. I am so surprised I hadn’t reviewed this already. I had tried this neat and it is very robust but not at all bitter. It is quite flavorful. Today I tried it with a bit of agave and a splash of milk which is very rare for me but I thought let’s give it a shot. It still tastes good but I feel like I enjoy it better straight which is typical for me. It is still bold and holds up very well with the milk. It basically just mutes the boldness a bit and gives it a creamier feel.

I received a bit of this tea from TeaEqualsBliss – thank you for it!

This is very nice. Robust and malty… a very nice richness to this cup. Probably a little late in the day for something so bold, but, as I’ve had a pretty busy day today, this is only my second cuppa today, and I really needed something with a little gusto. This one fills the bill.

I want to thank Rachel for the opportunity to try this one! It’s a nice strong morning brew! The leaves are more like pebbles but the taste is BOLD. The aroma is chewy! I love the aroma…the taste is pretty good, too!

I was in Chicago over Fourth of July and saw a TeaGschwendner shop while my mom and I were on our way to a party and of course I stopped :-). (Okay, I squealed “TEA!” and made two u-turns and went around the block twice to get back to the shop and find parking. Whatever. :-)) I bought O’Sullivan’s Favorite as well as a couple of others. I was a little surprised by the look of the tea, it looks like the tea leaves have been oxidized to death, leaving behind what almost looks like coffee grounds. And, as a matter of fact, I would totally recommend this boldly flavored tea to anyone trying to kick the coffee habit and I plan to get several coffee drinking friends to try this tea!

As I said, this is a boldly flavored tea that’s very strong. I loved the dark burgandy color of the tea at full steep, as a matter of fact, this tea greatly resembles the liqueur in color. This tea is a lot stronger than my normal Earl Grey’s and herbals, so I had to add sugar and some milk to fully enjoy it. Once I tried it hot and discovered how strong it was, I made it in the afternoon as an iced tea. Love it iced! The rich bold flavor gave me a very hardy tea that held up to ice and was completely refreshing during the hot and humid days we’re having around here. I’m definitely going to order more!

Last Day of April and it still feels cold this morning. Promises to get up to 60 today, but cloudy. Felt I needed a strong pick-me-up. Pulled out the O’Sullivan’s and brewed up some. I think I"m going to make it through now. I can always count on this brew to do just that. It’s a staple in my tea cupboard.
