Rooibos (from a South African plant), yellow plum, orange, apple, papaya, pineapple & ginger. A fruity blend that is great iced!

I bought this at Teaism because of the name. I love anything African. When I got home to transfer it from the sealed bag to a tin, I was scared of the smell. It was SO strong. It reminds me of a martini… or a cosmopolitan or anything vodka mixed with fruits. I was getting a gagging reflex thinking of those days. >_<

Anyhow, I decided to give it a try. * pinches nose * Dry, the leaves are the regular ruddy needle rooibos mixed with dried fruits and bits and something thats large, leafy and yellow (perhaps the yellow plum?). Steeped, the scent is not as strong, but is still somewhat aversive. The steep was a nice red-brown color. The taste was surprisingly wonderful! It was not tart at all, and there was a gentle sweetness to it. Great fruity blend without the tartness and mouth puckering. I need to try this iced! and possibly mix with vodka someday…

Overall, this blend tasted pretty good; however, the smell!!!! ohhh the smell!

I bumped this up in rating because I gave it another fair chance. The scent is still a little boozy but its not as bad as before. That might be due to the fact that I let it sit in my cupboard in the non-airtight bag that it came in. It tastes very good this time. It tastes like a mixture of tropical fruits, more like pineapples. I love the bits of yellow flowers and dried fruits. Good tea over all. I’m glad I gave it another chance. I’ve drank this several times after.

I asked my husband to make me some tea this morning, and he grabbed this one. It is always a surprise when he makes tea. He even added sugar to it! That is definitely a new one for me. Sugar and rooibos! It was very sweet but tasty too! :)

I’m studying for my boards exam, which is tomorrow! I decided to brew this up! I realized I only had a tiny bit for one last brew. Finished it up!

This tea is fruity and has calmed down in scent in comparison to when I first opened it up. I love the flavor of this now. I like how it isn’t tart, but the fruitiness is strong.

I enjoyed my 2 week vacation, but now that I started working, I realized that I drink far less tea than usual. This tea was great for tonight. It was fruity and light. Just what I needed before I go to sleep tonight.

One of my all-time faves! Solid, mellow rooibos, with a very subtle citrus twist. I steep this for a very short time—just a minutes or so. Absolutely wonderful for rooibos lovers. No caffeine. 6-2013

I love this tea, both the aroma and the taste. When you open the package it is a bit like opening a bag of fruit (such as apples) that has gone a bit heady, with an aroma that exudes just a smidgen of alcohol. That aroma is like a magnet, drawing me to the table as I sit and wait for the tea to steep. This is one tea that I do not add anything to — no honey is needed to enhance the body of the drink, nor is lemon needed to balance any bitterness.
