Strawberry Sencha

Green Tea by Tealuxe

Rich Sencha leaaf flavored with bits of strawberry and other red fruits. A delicious way to get to know green teas, but be careful, it’s habit forming.

Smells more strawberry than it tastes. Very broken. Still, sencha is silky smooth and sweet, and the strawberry provides a nice compliment to the “buttergrass” flavor. Pale yellowgreen liquor.

All throughout Shakespeare I was craving this. I had a cup of Golden Monkey, and this is absolutely the opposite. Smooth and sweet and scented and buttery… ohhh I’m in tea heaven right now.

Today I went to Tealuxe for the first time. I ordered the Strawberry Sencha, and the woman at the register asked me if I wanted a “regular” or “large”. I said regular, which apparently means 16 oz in a to-go cup :/ The tea was way oversteeped and bitter. After I diluted it with LOTS of water, it wasn’t too bad, so I think it was just the preparation that made this tea undrinkable. For that reason, I’m leaving the rating off. The strawberry flavoring was delicious…I hope I’ll be able to try this another time steeped shortly.

Edit: Okay, I turned this into a really delicious iced tea (ultra, ultra diluted). Yum!

very light but the strawberry comes through nicely, my first time trying it.

One of my favorite greens. The tea flavor is smooth, but brassy, the fruit flavor is light and tart, rather than cloying. Delicious hot or iced.

The strawberry in this smells really good but does not overpower the green tea. Very light flavored tea that I enjoy drinking at breakfast.

The strawberry is pleasantly subtle and over all the tea is pretty smooth
