A rare, precious gem, a very smooth, treasured loose-leaf pu-erh tea aged for 15 years in bamboo baskets to impart sweetness. This Pu-Erh was naturally aged in a ‘Dry Facility’, meaning natural fermentation from raw, uncooked green leaves. The natural aging process involves not only meticulous tending of the leaves as it ages but also, prayer that the environment is just humid and hot enough with good airflow but not much competing smells in the air, all factors which could ruin a precious batch of Pu-Erh. Dry Facility aged Pu-Erhs nowadays are rare, most are artificially fermented and aged in temperature controlled ‘Wet Facilities’, similar to a sauna or steam room. Those fast aging Pu-Erhs lack the deep, sweet tastes that naturally aged ones have. A true collector’s item.
