From Teanobi

Hojicha is composed of large Japanese green tea leaves and stems which are roasted to yield its distinctive color and flavor. Our Hojicha Stalk is exclusively made from tea leaf stems. The stems provide a longer lasting flavor and more infusions. Enjoy a mild roasted flavor with a deep and pleasant aroma. Yields a deep red colored tea.

This tea is grown exclusively in Kyoto, Japan. There are no preservatives or additives of any kind. Imported directly from Japan to preserve peak freshness.

Nice! Thank you TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this.

The tea brews up much darker than other Hojicha teas that I’ve tried. That depth translates to the flavor as well, it is a smooth, rich tasting Hojicha. Very pleasant roasty-toasty taste. YUM!

A really AWESOME Hojicha!

A big thanks to TeaEqualsBliss!
I thought this was such an interesting tea when I saw it! I was a bit frightened because I had NO idea how to brew it. But I opened the little baggie and I smelled a little roasty flavor :] Mm the flavor of this tea is so delicious. It’s very roasty tasting. It has a sweet aftertaste but is still kind of woodsy, too. It has a little bit of a nut flavor. It reminds me of brazil nuts because of the slight buttery taste they have in common. MM I’m so happy I got to try this!
