Okay…first I must say…I have been wanting to try ANYTHING from Teany forever!!! Why!? Because MOBY co-owns it and I am a MOBY Fan and because it’s also a vegetarian restaurant and I am a vegetarian and don’t know if I will ever be able to visit it in person.

I want to THANK LiberTEAs for this one too!

A SHOUT OUT to anyone who is looking to get rid of TeanNY Tea…regardless of what it is (other than banana flavored) I would LOVE to try it! I will gladly take ANY Teany teas off your hands or will trade/swap…just let me know!!! :)

Now…
When I first took this out of the bag I could smell the chocolate without having to even read the description. This made me very VERY happy. This smell great!

I can primarily taste the almond over everything else BUT can follow it up with the White Chocolate tastes and then hints of floral to follow that.

This is pretty tasty.

Finishing up my last little bit. This smells like Peanut Butter and Chocolate or Chocolate Peanut Butter and green tea. I can taste the nuttiness more than the chocolate or cocoa notes and the after taste is more flower and stereotypical green tea than the beginning of the sip.

I had received my order from Teany a few weeks ago, but, I have been ordering tea like crazy (something just sort of came over me when I decided to switch over from being a tea business to a tea consumer and I started buying tea like mad!) that I hadn’t yet tried it until today!

My initial reactions to this tea: Well, first of all, the tea is really beautiful. I like Teany’s tins, they have a clear top so you can see the tea. Slivers of nuts and flower blossoms. Beautiful! When I opened the tin, I could smell the cocoa. It is a very prominent aroma in the dry leaf, and while the brewed tea smells a bit softer, it is still there – soft, yet delicious smelling!

I wish that the cocoa was a stronger flavor in the tea. Perhaps this is one that I will need to experiment a bit with as far as steeping time to see if I can extract more flavor from it. It’s a tasty tea. I think that the flavors have sort of melded together into one “new” flavor – and I am finding it difficult to discern the individual tastes. Definitely worthy of another attempt in the near future.

Now that I’ve steeped the last from my Oolong, I thought I’d have some Vienna Green.

On a slightly unrelated note, I wish that teany included photos of their tea on their website. It would make life so much easier for this tea reviewer!

This tea is yummy. Chocolate is well pronounced in the cup, but I can also taste the green tea – pleasant, fresh, and only very slightly vegetative. A toasted sweetness from the nuts. I can also taste a slight buttery flavor to the overall blend – a very rich, creamy taste. Very decadent. YUMMY!

This is a tea that absolutely requires a low temperature for steeping. Too high a heat will give this tea a really blah taste…

Just finishing up the last of this tea in my cupboard.

Yummy chocolate flavor, nutty, sweet. I really have enjoyed this one.

Vienna Green’s one of my favorites from Teany. The cocoa nibs make for a wonderful aroma and chocolatey finish. It’s a nice combination over conversation on a slightly chilly almost-spring evening.
