Thanks so much Crow Kettle for sending a bit of this one to try. With the last yerba mate I tried, I’m finding yerba mate is quickly moving up my list of favorite types of tea, and this one certainly supports that! I love this one. It has a lovely earthy mate flavor with delicious mint and a hint of vanilla that smooths it out. With the second steep, I poured just boiled water, which made the taste a bit tangy. So I’ll definitely not use boiling water in the future.. 200 degrees sounds better! I’ll be needing some more delicious yerba mates in the future! But hopefully in the long future.. I shouldn’t be ordering any teas anytime soon.

Okay, so, maybe…sip…Teaopia isn’t so…gulp…terrible as all that.

Excuse me for a minute?

gulp, glug, gone

Okay, now maybe I can get this written. I love this tea. I love vanilla mint anything, but this tea is delicious. Paired with it being a mate? I am happy to say I’ve found an all-time favorite. The vanilla is smooth and creamy without being too sweet, and the mint is just strong enough to tingle. I’m going to have another cup and then cut myself off…the last thing I need for my interview is to be jittery from mate.

But I can safely say I will be returning to Teaopia for a big, big bag of this. My interview today is for a job that may sometimes have me working at Square One, so I’m glad to know I have at least one option from Teaopia.

Made a cuppa this this morning before getting ready for another interview! It was still amazingly tasty and definitely helped me wake up. Unfortunately, the company I interviewed with doesn’t have a lot to offer. Work all holidays, 15-20 hours a week maximum (which is all I’m really looking for, but still), starts at minimum wage with no raise unless promoted to manager. Seriously. Still, it’s a job. If I get it, it works for now. If not…it may not be the worst thing to happen.

Yesterday’s interview went well, despite my jumpiness! I’ll hear about both of them by the end of the week, hopefully I’ll get one of them and be able to afford 500g of this amazing tea. Looove.

One thing I did notice is that when I had it on an empty stomach this morning, it did make me a little sick, but that’s likely because it had been about 18 hours since I last ate.

After running around IKEA and the mall and Say Tea, and after a long night of stressing and freaking out, we were all exhausted when we got home. So I made a pot of this and my brother, his fiancee, and I split it. It was good, but not spectacular. Honestly, it seemed tasteless to me. While I did enjoy the energy boost, it’s not something I think I’ll find myself reaching for.

I’m not really big on minty teas. This one’s not bad, but the peppermint sort of lingers on the tongue. Some may like it, I kinda don’t.

This was my final sample pack from Metrotown’s Teaopia. Don’t imagine I’ll snag any more of this, to be honest. But it’s a nice little pick-me-up tea for the morning.
