Fireside S'mores Tea

Nice!! I like it! It really hit my chocolate craving. With some milk and sugar, the piping hot cup tastes kindof earthy though. Almost like a caramel rooibos but that could also be the hazelnut, maybe? As it cools down, the nutty chocolate comes out more, and once the heat is gone it very much reminds me of chocolate milk. There are sips where I also tasted some malty marshmallow as well.
I like it, but more than the chocolate orange tea? Hmmm, maybe not. I’ll have to see what happens next time I try it.
Now that the eeeeevil Teavana has officially taken over, I need to try all the Teaopia blends again and see what I should stock up on before they disappear forever! :/

Well, I don’t taste anything. I’m waiting and waiting for a flavor but it’s doing nothing for me. I only steeped it for 3 minutes, though that’s what the instructions say…3-4…wah.
It’s like maybe someone sprinkled graham cracker in watered down tea, but that’s about it.

Judging from some other notes, it seems this is common. Blah. I would try it again with more leaf and more time, but I want to move on to another type of tea.

How fun! I wish I could join the next one but funds just aren’t on my side lately, however, after taking part in one I can truly say that it is an AMAZING experience – not to be missed! ee!

I think I should have used more leaf for more flavour, however the small amount of flavour I did get was yummy! The marshmallows were perfect, and I love the balance of chocolate and graham. Sadly it was a bit watery (should have read the reviews first) – but I now know why this is a Teaopia tea to be missed!

I only have just over a teaspoon left, so I’ll mix it with Della Terra Smores tea because they will mix poifectly! :D

It has a nice marshmallow creaminess with an almost toffee like flavor that is soothing and sweet.
I also could totally get the graham cracker flavor in it which I happen to LOVE!

I really like the look of this tea, the cute little marshmallows and everything looks so neat together, the black, oolong, and white.
This tastes really good. I mostly get the graham cracker like others have mentioned. After that, I get lighter notes of the marshmallow and chocolate.
At first I was really disappointed with the chocolate, I was hoping it would be more chocolatey. But by the end of the cup, I was really enjoying it!
Glad I got this tea.

This is a backlog from yesterday afternoon, when I made my first-ever visit to Teaopia! Picked this one up for 50% off, plus a couple other teas (not on sale).

I’ll need to write a proper review later, but in spite of this tea smelling pretty delicious (reminded me a bit of Creamy Nut Oolong, perhaps some of the same flavourings?) and being chock full of ultra-mini marshmallows, I hardly got any flavour from it. And I used a LOT of tea! And then used another 1.5 tsp because I couldn’t taste much. Very disappointing. I hope it was a taste bud issue. Either way, I have TONS to experiment with now….

(Ok, I just tried some of yesterday’s tea that was still in my Timolino, and it was better than I remember. So I have hope for next time, although I did use a LOT of tea for that infusion. And, the mini marshmallows left my infuser rather grungy, which was irritating to clean.)

This one is yummy delicious, I got some in a swap and I hate to admit that I forgot who it was that sent it to me, THANK YOU MUCHLY YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!

This tea smells brilliant! It’s mostly graham cracker that I smell, but I detect the tea base that kind of morphs into this delicate chocolate note. Sipping… there is definitely more flavor in the aftertaste than in the actual sip itself. The finish is graham cracker… spot on! I’m not tasting much chocolate or marshmallow, but I’m very impressed that a slightly sweet graham cracker can be tasted in a tea! Yes! The rest of the sip is uneventful, but smooth. Really I’m just drinking it for that crumbly, honeyed aftertaste.

Big thanks to Indigobloom for sharing some of this tea with me. I’m thrilled that I got to try it! It’s the perfect, comforting tea that I need this evening.

Ooh, this is pretty good! The tea is incredibly strongly scented, so much so that I was hesitant to make it. The smell is really sweet chocolatey tea.

Steeped, it’s actually pretty good! This is an excellent use of a roasty toasty tea, giving the background flavour of fire roasted marshmallows. This is definitely an application of toasty teas that I believe in! My marshmallows didn’t dissolve, but the tea is sweet enough to not need any sugar to bring out the flavours. The chocolate is in the background here, but it does exist. It goes from roasty and nutty to sweet and a little chocolatey. I used half the sample I received, which was about 2 tsp in my (new!) 315ml pot.

If this tea was still around, I’d definitely buy it. Now to hunt around for a decent substitute!

(PS. I can’t have the Della Terra S’mores tea because there’s crushed graham crackers in it, and I cannot do gluten.)

Edit: Steep 2 with 1/4 tsp sugar. 5 minutes, only 12 oz water. Still really good. Much more chocolate flavour this time, possibly due to the sugar. I see where people get the hot chocolate ideas from!

Fireside S’mores is one of the few teas I was able to try before the Teavana-takeover. In my opinion its a nice, balanced mix of many things I like: marshmallows, chocolate and hazelnut – nothing really overpowers the other. And it’s not a strong tasting tea, which makes it kind of comforting on a chilly winter’s day. I enjoy this most as a latte with a little rock sugar.

I am saddened that this is no longer available, but feel very lucky to have a decent amount of this left. Thanks again tattooed_tea!

So I can totally understand why people love this tea. that being said, it’s not my favorite I mostly wanted to try this before I end up ordering the s’mores tea from Della Terra for comparisons sake evenif I can’t ever get this tea again haha. It’s not a bad tea..it’s just a bit weird for my taste. It might have sometig to do with the fact that I ate all of the mini marshmallows out of my sample before I brewed the tea grin anyway there’s chocolate in here, and hints of the sticky marshmallowy goo but I’m not quite getting the graham cracker taste. Any interesting tea to say the least :)

Tea to go with this today…I was in a really bad headspace this morning and come early afternoon, it wasn’t clearing, so I thought chocolate and marshmallow white tea might do the trick.

This was love at first smell! Dry, it smells utterly divine, and it initially picked my spirits up and brought time to a more relevant speed.

Sadly, brewed, this is not as amazing as it smells. But it is still very tasty. Actually, it reminded me quite a bit of Checkmate from DAVIDs. In the end, it was a sort of sweet, cocoa-y, creamy white (I did add milk to add to the creaminess) tea that didn’t scream S’MORES!

With all this said, I am still potentially interested in getting the tin, if only to stuff my nose in every now and again for a little chocolate aromatherapy. :P As a tea, it is good, as a s’mores tea, it is mediocre.

well I finally decided to try the after having it for months. I got it really cheap, I think about $7 for the whole tin. good thing too, cause this is gross, blech!
the dry notes smell a little earth, slightly sweet, kinda chocolatey. once steeped it smells earthy, but more like dirt, than good earthy. and it pretty much tastes the same way. right at the end of the sip I get a slight touch of Graham cracker. I had like four sips and ditched the rest of my mug.

Blarg! Tired and sore this morning from brazilian jiu jitsu. Always something injured and hurting – today it’s my elbow. I wanted a fun tea this morning, and this one swapped to me by Kittena looks fun!

DRY: lots of fun chunks in this one, including mini marshmallows!

STEEPED: amber coloured cup, smells caramelly and graham cracker like. The mini marshmallows sort of melted, I ate the remainder! HEHE

TASTE: Fairly light tasting, slighty nutty and a little chocolatey. Very mellow tea, not black tea tasting or white – an interesting mix. I thought it was going to be sweet, so I didn’t sweeten it at first.
Sweetened, the chocolate comes out more and I can taste the graham crust. Not tasting marshmallows.

WHO’D LIKE THIS TEA: peeps who sweeten their teas! This one needs it! This tea is pretty light too, maybe a white tea drinker would appreciate.

COMMENTS: very light tea, and I thought I went a little heavy on the dry leaf! Sweetened, this was much much better as I could taste the smore, somewhat, but still very mild. I’d love a smore tea to be strong, malty and toasty!

Just a small cuppa before my last exam. The smell is amazing – like summertime camping.
It’s definitely creamy and delicious – I’m not tasting too much chocolate but definitely the marshmallow – yum. I only steeped it for 3 minutes, perhaps next time I’ll try a little longer.

I love the little marshmallows in the tea. Except I ate them halfway through steeping the tea D: I’ve heard good things and bad things about this tea so I’m excited to try it… ok here goes first sip..
Hmm… Definitely different. I’m getting a little bit of the graham cracker, a tiny bit of chocolate and nothing really of the marshmallow (most likely because I ate them..). I’m getting a lot of hazelnut and other nutty flavors. Meh, it’s more of a chocolate/hazelnut tea to me.

I love, love, love, LOVE this tea.
I ordered it for the first time this season based on its online description as soon as it came out, aka before smelling it in store, something I normally only do for clearance teas.
I couldn’t be happier with this tea.
First impressions once I opened the tin were “Oh My Gosh! I have never seen marshmallows that small!” followed by “I smell each of the cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow parts, this is great”
Second impressions once I first brewed it was that I could taste each of the classic s’mores ingredients too, which is great since as I’ve mentioned in other posts I’m a celiac and can’t normally enjoy that.
Third impression on the second brewing is that without the marshmallows (they melted on the first brewing) I mostly got a tea that tasted like Graham crackers, which I miss greatly from my pre celiac days so smiles all around!

I was really disappointed with this tea, it might have been stored wrong, but it just tasted like virtually nothing! Bland, watery taste, even after a longer steep and extra leaves added. The marshmallows ended up being annoying in my mesh strainer and the different flower petals were pretty much useless :( Too bad this tea will never surface again, I would have enjoyed a fresh cup….I think?

This tea is quite nice. The first time I drank it, I only noticed the graham cracker taste, and a little of the marshmallow.
Today, I can taste everything: the marshmallow, the graham cracker, the chocolate… It’s delicious. :) I think adding milk definitely helped too. It added a creaminess to it.
I like it! :)

Total miss :(

It’s bitter, lacks any flavour even remotely resembling s’mores. Smells burnt when I sniff the tin. Adding milk/sweeteners/ice cream/whipped cream didn’t help.

Really disappointed that I don’t like it after reading all the hype about it, and then waiting to finally have it in stock so I could try it.
