Rise N Shine

Fruit Herbal Honeybush Yerba maté Blend by Teaopia

A perfect combination of lapacho, honeybush, Yerba Mate, apple pieces, cinnamon bits, green Mate, chrysanthemum flowers, guarana powder, cola nut, pomegranate blossoms, marigold and aroma. This blend is considered a great stimulant without the side effects of coffee, which makes it wonderful for those trying to make the switch to tea.

If you like the taste of cola, but aren’t so big on how sweet cola is, then this tea is perfect!
I add just one spoon of sugar and then drink it iced. This is my mid-day pick-me-up.

I wanted to mention, since I saw some people mentioning the kola nut and for those wanting to attempt a blend on their own, KOLA NUT on its own is insanely bitter and does not have a nice taste at all. All the cola taste and smell you were getting from this, unfortunately was artificial flavoring and aromas.
The tea was naturally sweet due to the dried fruit and also the honeybush which is a naturally sweet herb and excellent for regulating the appetite too.
With this tea, the big energy boost came from the guarana content, a fantastic little seed that really boosts energy levels and burns fat while controlling the appetite. so, for those looking for the health effects and performance, try a blend of this:
honeybush, lapacho (pau d’arco bark….a very antimicrobial herb), Mate, kola nut (but only a TINY bit), guarana seed (again, only a small amount until you see how you react to it!), cinnamon (gets the blood circ going) and then add in any flavors, fruits, spices you want according to your taste preference! hope that helps! :)

its a shame teopia was bought over by teavana as this tea no longer exists….I looked at teavanas website to see if they have anything similar and sadly they do not. Personally, I blend tea for a living but I buy teas from other companies constantly for the sake of knowing what else is out there (and ensuring mine is still the best lol). I don’t typically condone teas that have flavors or aromas added to them but this tea was so delicious that I added it to my “guilty pleasure cupboard” to drink on occasion when no one was watching! ;) and was my go to tea to settle for when i got caught off guard traveling and ran out of my own blends….

First off, big thanks to Nwolf93 for sending me this sample! I loooove my teaopia teas, although most are sadly gone. There must have been some leftover sugar in my mug because my first infusion was so sweet I thought there must have been stevia leaf in it. As it is it’s…interesting. There’s a certain scent/flavour that’s very familiar, that for some reason my brain is telling me is mint. That could just be the green mate, though, since most mates I drink are roasted or heavily flavoured. I feel like I can taste, and am enjoying the cola nut flavour, but can’t quite pick it out. Allover, definitely I tea I would keep around….if it were still made. Mind you, I’m very curious about mixing my own teas in the future, this might be one I try and replicate.

I like this one pretty much only because of the cola nut, love cola nut teas! I don’t drink pop anymore but do still sometimes miss Pepsi so I’m drawn to teas with Cola nut. Its a nice mild and mellow tea with a smooth hint of cola, not overpowering like in some I’ve had. Nice to have in the cupboard but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.

I’ve always disliked carbonated beverages, but had nothing against the “cola” flavour… so when I smelled this tea, I was HOOKED! I love the punchy aroma and kick of alertness it gives me when I need that boost. With a little agave to sweeten it up, it’s just like a hot cup of coke! yummmm. I can’t do excessive amounts of caffeine so this is a great alternative for me. Almost as good as the Sunshine Mate I have.

Ugh! what a long day. Seriously, I am like a worn out mental rug!!
My work contract is ending soon so I’ve been making the rounds with job applications and staffing agency intros/interviews. So of course I needed a pick-me-up between meet and greets and I have been craving this lately.
So of course I swung by the store and they were super busy, being that most everything was 75% off and people were lining up like ants to carry off their treats. Well, you can guess what happened. Even though spending money is the last thing I should be doing this month, I ended up shelling out! how could I resist!!!
Look at what I got and tell me it wasn’t worth it. Just tell me!
1 cup of delicious, iced, Rise N Shine!
2 packages of tea filters (100 each)
1 Matcha set (whisk, stand, chawan etc)
50g of Amarretto Cherry Black Tea

All of that for $22.50 which includes 13% tax

Now… was that a good deal? you tell me. Have I tricked myself into thinking it was worth it?

I don’t know why I splurged on this, I have a tiny bit of it left at home… but I wasn’t in the mood for much else. bah.
It was good, nice and thick. This is the only tea I enjoy that way, so it makes sense that I enjoy it more when they make it in the shop.
The cola is so uplifting. I just love smelling the cup as it cools!
and did the shop girl add agave?? it’s very sweet on it’s own without any adds. Anyhow, I was thinking about refilling my stock but now I think I need to hold off. After having a tea around for awhile, I tend to get tired of it and this was one of my first. The rating still holds of course!
Everything blends together so nicely, I’ll always have a soft spot for this one :)

I second the Coca Cola descriptions! When I first smelled it I immediately thought of Cherry Coke. It is quite nice in the morning, but I find I can’t rely on it as a true “pick me up”—I need something stronger like a black tea. But if I’m awake already, it’s quite lovely.

I really like this in the morning. While I usually prefer a strong black tea with milk to wake me up, this is quickly becoming a favourite. The cola flavour is predominant, with a slight fruitiness from the apple. I find that the energizing aspect of the tea takes a while to take effect, but once it does it is a sustained energy boost, rather than the quick burst and crash of coffee.

It tastes like Coca Cola (most likely from the cola nut) without the overload of sugar you get from the soda…I love this flavor. Not quite the punch of coffee but a nice morning tea.
