Kuki Matcha

Green Tea by Teavana

This uniquely creamy emerald green blend is comprised of an exceptional grade of Matcha powder combined with delicately roasted Kukicha. It is a great tea for macrobiotic diets.

By combining Matcha with Kukicha, or Japanese Twig Tea, you get the best of both worlds: a creamy texture with the full flavor of green tea. It’s a health lover’s delight!

How to Prepare
This tea is made like a traditional green tea, rather than a Matcha. Use 1 teaspoon of tea per 8 ounces of water. Heat water to 175 degrees and steep for 2 minutes. 2 ounces of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.

Ingredients:
Kukicha green tea (leaves, stems, and twigs) and Matcha (powdered Tencha leaves).

So far I havn’t had much from non flavored green teas, but figure i’ll try again. This time i actually payed attention to the steeping instructions.
Not bad, doesn’t taste bitter like previous times i’ve had this tea, probably because i steeped it way less than I had previously.
To me I doesn’t have alot of taste, but maybe that’s how green tea is supposed to taste? It smells very good and has a cozy feel to it, but pretty much tastes like hot water to me with a little tea aftertaste.

Tried this Again. This time added 2 heaping teaspoons of leaves and steeped it barely a minute. Much more flavorful this time.

Been a while since i’ve had this tea. Bumping rating down a little as i had rated this tea back when i had not had many types of tea.

So second time around. I think green tea is starting to grow on me. Pretty much same cooking instructions, though next batch i’m gonna try doubling the amount of teas/water ratio.

Thanks moraiwe for this sample!

Kukicha is one of my favorite green teas. This tea doesn’t taste much different than regular kukicha that I’ve tried from difference sources except that it is much greener in the cup and slightly bitter. I like it well enough, but I will probably just stick to my plain kukichas.

i steeped for two minutes as per the instructions but found it to be bitter and unpleasant. i love the idea of this tea, but i’m not sure it’s for me. i’ll try again with cooler water and a shorter steeping time and see if that helps.

Definitely the best of both worlds — powdered matcha and roasted kukicha — and so delicious. Plus, I love a beautiful cup of true green tea!

I enjoyed this tea while it lasted. The mix with matcha was wonderful and it made for a nice, vegetal tea. I’ve found similar and higher quality blends for better prices however.

Drinking matcha today after my long trip back from Phoenix. Sure wish I could have made it to Seven Cups but…

Tastes like Matcha but not as thick. DO NOT steep longer than 1 min. I also recommend 170 degree water.

Green machine, Its fantastic and it has a high octane energy boost.

I really love this. Naturally sweet, a little grassy, and very smooth. Cooler water preferred (if the water is too hot this turns out bitter) and I find only 1-2 infusions is best. One of my favourites.

My favorite tea from Teavana so far. Has a really rich, creamy, buttery type flavor with some nutty instances. Will certainly keep it on my list of repeat purchases.

Best brewed at 175F with 1tsp per 5.5 oz of water.

Teavana has some great teas. But this one is out of the ordinary. Awesome taste, very smooth, and an earthy taste. Good for multiple steepings.
