Alright well, this one isn’t TECHNICALLY a backlog because I cold steeped a huuuuge gallon pitcher and I still have a little left, but I made it a few days ago so that’s why I’m including it. As I just said, I made a gallon and in the process used up almost all of my 2 oz, so that’s a little upsetting. I’m glad I did it iced though, because no way jose would I drink this one hot.

The verdict: this one is soooo yummy! Definitely one of my favorites from Teavana! I didn’t leave the leaves in for long enough (about 16 hours, it should have been more like 18-20 or even a full day but whatever), so it’s a little weak, but not enough to make it bad. This is so yummy anyways! It’s lovely and fruity, not quite true blackberry but definitely berry esque, and has a nice refreshing mint tone that stays in your mouth. Yum yum yum yum yum! I’m actually considering buying this one online to make more because it’s so yummy!

Thank you Bonnie for recommending this one, I would have otherwise overlooked it and I’m glad I bought some!

This smells awesome prior to infusion/steeping. Great mix of berries and plum scents were coming through before I added the water. Major blackberry smell coming from my cup post infusion/steeping. I’m not really tasting the mint or apple. There’s always a fix for that add some more! I really like this. Very refreshing and it will hopefully get me to 4pm. If not there’s always the Oolong I have too!

I seem to have a low tolerance for drinking a solid panel of straight teas recently, so this is one of possibly a few flavoured teas I’m throwing into the mix tonight, courtesy of Momo!

I haven’t tried a great deal of tea from Teavana, but am not expecting to be too impressed given the generally low view of the company on here (although this tea does have a good rating). I followed the instructions (almost) and brewed this one at 79C for 1:15… it was quite dark at that time already, so I’m worried about hibiscus, although such a short infusion should have tamed it sufficiently… I hope.

The aroma is kind of a fake-fruity sort. Kind of sweet; I can’t pick out anything specific, although there may be a hint of mint coming through. Flavourwise… this is interesting. It definitely tastes like a candy I’ve had in the past, although I can’t pinpoint which. The mint is actually blended in quite well here, to result in a refreshing aftertaste but a lack of overwhelming mintiness, which I would have disliked. The rest of the sip is a slightly tart, fakey-fruity flavour.

Honestly, I can see how people would enjoy this one, and I’m not finding it particularly bad, but it’s no longer my cup of tea. It reminds me a fair bit of Raspberry Zinger from Celestial Seasonings, which I used to love, and no longer really enjoy at all, since I’ve discovered how many other, much more delicious flavours are out there!

That said, I appreciate you sending me a bit of this, Momo! My curiosity wouldn’t have been sated otherwise :D

This is one delicious mojito-tea MojiTea? It doesn’t have the rum flavor, but I bet it would be great with a splash of rum, especially if one wants to imbibe on a chilly fall evening and still enjoy a summery drink.

The blackberry flavor is well done, the spearmint is noticeable (although I may try it with a little more for added flavor) and I think I’m getting a bit of plum and apple to show through as well. This is a nice softly fruit (in Teavana terms) green tea.

I have Wifey-Woman to thank for sending me a bit of this tea to try. Since I don’t shop at Teavana very often (hubby is under the false assumption that I have “enough tea” – whatever that means), I am glad to have on-line friends who are willing to share bits of these teas to try. :) Thanks Wifey-Woman (aka Little Mew Brew!)

This is really good. I can taste the blackberry and the apple, and even the plum and raspberry. It’s pleasantly sweet and tart. The spearmint is a bit hidden in the first couple of sips, but the flavor develops nicely. Underneath it all, I can also taste the green tea peeking through.

If I were to change anything about this, I would make it hibiscusless. (Yes, it’s a word, I just made it up) I think that the hibiscus is a bit much here – it doesn’t really overwhelm the other flavors, but, I’d rather not be tasting it at all.

Other than that, though, I really am enjoying this blend.

This is another tea from Teavana that I tweak. I love the base of tart (but not bitter) blackberry and the subtle taste of lime and mint. But I go one step further and add more spearmint. It’s a sweeter mint and blends well with the base. I love bold blackberry and mighty mint.

That being said, this is still one of my favorite blends from Teavana. A nice flavor hot and even better iced.

Completely forgot I had this! Found it when re-organizing my tea cupboard. I’m giving it a higher rating than before, because I steeped it a bit longer than usual (about 5 mins) and was rewarded with a stronger cup. More tart blackberries and more sweet mint. It’s a nice combo.

I’ll have to try this iced; I wonder if it would taste like the blackberry/mint awesomeness at Macaroni Grill… food, no TEA, for thought! Has anyone tried this iced?

After the blueberry bliss, I opted for this one – but my version, which adds more blackberry dried fruit (my mom found them in her local grocery store, lucky duck) and more spearmint so overall, more flavor. I didn’t touch the rating, though, since Teavana didn’t do it right this time… (boo)
But I love my version. ;)

I believe I bought way too much of this tea. It sounded so great that I decided I needed to get enough to last me. And I did, and this is why I have way too much of this tea. I have had a few cups before, but this is my first time logging it. I have enjoyed it every time (thankfully considering I have a whole lot of it to drink through). My fondest memory of this tea is of it helping me through a tough case of laryngitis. With a bit of mint, it was perfect for my sore throat!

It is really pleasing to look at. I can make out the berries and green tea leaves. I think it is best described as looking “fun”. It smells great, berry being the main note followed by mint and, if you think about it, lime or lemon (definitely something citrus hiding among the berries, tea, and mint).

The brew (usual 2 tsp to 16oz of water) is an interesting purplish color. I get varying shades of it every time I brew it. I believe the color depends on the amount of berries in each spoonful, which can vary greatly. The scent is filled with berries and subtle hint of mint. I don’t get the citrus anymore. There is always a bit of a weird accompanying smell, which is malty (in a beer sort of way). I don’t really know where it comes from… It is the odd one out, making this tea loose some points for not being as smooth as it could be.

The flavor is great. First up berry followed by fresh mint. If you sweeten it, the mint will almost completely disappear and berry will take over. If you want to sweeten it, you should add more spearmint. In fact, adding more spearmint even if you aren’t going to sweeten it is a great idea. : )

I still tasted a bit of the malty “odd one out” I got in the smell, but it didn’t bug me. What did bug me was the sour taste it left in my mouth once the mint taste disappeared. Sour is not the way I like for my mouth to taste…

I like this tea, I really do… but it could be better. Adding more mint helps it reach the “great” mark, but it doesn’t quite make it. Still I am happy with the large amount I have and may consider reordering one day!

This tea is delicious iced! The berry flavor isn’t quite as strong as I’d like, but that may change after the tea has had a chance to steep overnight. I love the refreshing green tea and bright minty finish. I may need to take Meghann M’s suggestion and try it with a spot of rum :) Very tasty indeed.

This tea is actually quite delicious, however I can’t truly taste the tea in it. It’s reminding me a lot of Adagio’s Raspberry Patch in that it seems like a lovely hot fruit juice – minus the tartness of the raspberry in Raspberry Patch. Don’t get me wrong, I love that, a lot; but the tea flavour seems to be lost. I’m getting the blackberry flavour and I’m guessing some apple, which tones down the raspberry. I’m not really tasting any spearmint though.

The second steep is slightly more toned down than the first, and I’m thinking I prefer it that way.

Thanks jessiwrites :)

Thanks to the HoppiTea Swap, I am trying american teas. Apart from celestial seasonings, I had never had any american blends, or even found them for sale. So pretty happy to get a chance to try it. But is it just me observing this trend, or are american tea blenders obsessed with hibiscus?!?

KTT kindly picked a wide range of teas, which are not nominally hibiscus teas, but of the ones I have already tried it´s like almost all have hibiscus hidden there in some form! Even this which is green tea. I could not believe it when I brew it, hibiscus in green tea, but checking online, blender admits it. Hibiscus with green tea, is just not going to be my cup of tea, unfortunately.

I am biased about the hibiscus, I admit sometimes they can be used nicely, just feeling grumpy about it being a “surprise” ingredient in so many unexpected teas. This is a nice green tea, with the tang of the hibiscus mixing with the green tea. Reminded me a bit of Twinings´Green Tea with Cranberry ( though that one has no hibiscus, so less tart). I am very glad to have had a chance to try it, thank you very much Carolynne.

This tea is beautiful. To start with, the dry mix is visually pleasing and the brewed tea is a beautiful purplish-red. It really needs to be consumed from one of my very fancy tea cups. The smell of both the dry tea and the brewed tea is wonderful as well. Very fruity, which I definitely appreciate. I like when tea hits all my senses.

So much for sight and smell, what about the one that really matters? Taste? Less tea-like than I imagined. Well, less green tea. Others are right, the green does get muted by the intensity of the fruit and hibiscus. You do get some hints of the green tea, but hints are really all you get. I’m drinking it hot and unsweetened right now. This would be amazing as an iced tea. I’ll definitely drink it again (and not just because I have a lot of it).

Iced today, after I brewed it and took a nap. It is pretty good iced, quite refreshing, a bit tart, which really comes through on my swigs of tea. I really don’t think I get a lot of the tea flavor in this. I think I get mostly hibiscus and fruit. I’m not sure how different it would be as a tisane, without any tea, that is how little tea-ness I get from it. Oh well. Still like it, which is good, because I have a lot of it.

I was in the mood after working out (go me!) for something tart and assertive, and this, steeped for three minutes, fit the bill. Yum.

Resteep at 2 minutes. Don’t bother. Not worth it.

Went shopping today at Teavana! There were alot of teas that I’ve been wanting to try for a long while and since who knows when I’ll be able to tea shop next, I mind as well go now! I picked this because the concept of Mojito flavored tea intrigues me, and I wanted a green tea to drink tonight.

Well, I can’t say that I am impressed with this tea. Truthfully I am rather dissapointed. It doesn’t taste horrible, it tastes nice, but the flavor reminds me alot of Teavana’s other fruity teas. (Such as Peach berry Jasmine Sutra) I can’t help but think that with a longer steep that the flavor would come out a bit more, yet it says on the directions to only steep for a minute. Granted, even with that minute when I picked up the lid, the color was already a deep purplish red that looked lovely. While I have the feeling this would taste better iced, I will probably not buy this again.

Steeped for 2 minutes at 175F, as per tin!

Inspection prior to steeping doesn’t seem to show a lot of green tea leaves, but a lot of dried fruit, which makes me wonder about the actual classification of this as a green tea blend.

That said, it tasted very nice, with a pleasant blackberry aroma. initially it tasted tart on the tounge but then the blackberry and apple came through, with a pleasant fresh aftertaste. I assume this was the mint catching me on the rebound, because I didn’t smell or taste it before or during imbibing.

The second steeping was a LOT weaker than the first run. The colour was also a lot paler, so I am guessing this is a one and done infusion, either that or I need to double the steeping time. The initial brew was a healthy purple and almost glowed in the sunlight.

That said, it made for a very pleasant drink, my main gripe would be I am slightly concerned about how much green tea I actually drank – which was the whole point of the exercise!

Spent a great afternoon shopping which included a visit to Teavana to pick up some new teas…. This is the first one I tried, it is a delicious light green tea. Blackberry is great with a touch of mint. The mint is not very strong. Very nicely done!

What a lovely refreshing tea! i could drink this most any time. It is a soft and clean taste with a definite berry note. Other than having a very fresh taste, I don’t notice the mint or the apple. It could be served hot or cold.

Wanted a fresh fruity tea tonight to break up the pattern of Puerh and earthy spicy tea I’ve been drinking. This tea was so refreshing. The smell is wonderfully rich and ripe berry…rasp and blackberry dark and sunny. I tried some before and remembered to steep 4-5 minutes without fear of bitterness. This is blue/purple soup. You need to drink it sweet or it’s like picking an unripe berry which is sweet but you would not make a pie out of it…you’d still pucker. Before we all moved to Colorado, my daughter lived in the Coast Range Mountains by Santa Cruz,CA in the Redwoods…and in clearings there were rings of wild berry brambles…blackberries reaching up to catch the sun. We’d go with the grandkids picking enough for pie, or to top ice cream adding a tad of sugar. You could taste the sunshine in it. This tea has that authentic berryness. The taste that is not bitter. I like it. I would add mint in the Summer or make iced tea or make a spritzer with 7up and crushed ice.

Yesterday I had to pick up my Aerobeds from my daughter Annalisa’s house so I brought her favorite fruit-flavored green tea (Blackberry Mojito) to share with the family. Everyone in my family loves tea! My 3 teenaged girl grandkids were not around but the little boys were ready for yummy grandma tea! My daughter is a tea pro! She has a beautiful large white porcelain teapot (among the many) that she chose to use this day. While the tea was steeping she prepared a tray with a pretty teatowel and teaspoon for stirring agave into each persons cup…for sweet tea. She ordered us into the living room…grandma (me) in the easy chair…baby foster boy on a blanket, foster toddler (3) in line with the other 3 grandsons each holding their cups impatiently waiting for a turn at pourings of tea and agave. I was served first.
“Ummmm.” You could almost see the boys quiver…leaning towards my cup to smell my tea. “Ummmm this is good. Like real blackberries!” And each one got their fill and refill until the whole big pot was empty! At the end of their second cup, and while I was still enjoying my delicious truly berry yummy brew,…the boys turned on the Music Channel on the TV to the 80’s Retro Channel and began dancing. The 11 year old was the leader and the other two (9 and 7) did their best to copy him! So cute and funny. Being a grandma with such a little thing like blackberry tea is pretty neato!

I just want to add rum to it when it’s iced.
It smells so good, all the important elements are there. I think everything expands a bit too much for my little ducky tea ball so it didn’t come out as strongly as I would have liked. I’ll try again next time with my teapot instead.

Weird that I have a tasting note from 9 months ago but it says last logged almost a year ago…I was like I know I took time off from this tea because I don’t really like it hot.

I have a pitcher of it cold steeped and I’ve been drinking it all day. I really prefer it cold steeped. There is absolutely no hibiscus taste because it’s doing a far better job in amping up the blackberry. The mint fits in nicely in the aftertaste, but for some reason I want more! As usual though, the green tea is not very apparent, but it’s obviously there slightly, because this doesn’t just taste like I made juice out of dried fruit and flavorings.

Also genius just struck: I have some red table wine in my fridge so I poured a bit in a glass then filled it with this tea. AMAZING. I didn’t really measure but it’s a good mix because I can taste the wine and the tea still. A bit like a sangria but dare I say better?

This was even better iced tea when I cold brewed it overnight.

I like making this as a cold pressed tea. I also decided the other night to actually add rum to it. All it probably needs is a bit of club soda, a squeeze of lime, and it would be a perfect tea cocktail!

The only problem with making it cold is I don’t think it brings the mint out enough. All the fruit flavors come out quite well, and you can still tell it’s made of green tea even when a good bit of rum is added.

This is a strongly flavored green tea. I love that it is tart. I cannot taste the base of the green tea as it just melds into the fruit flavors.

I drank the last of my stash of this tea today. Iced this was GREAT!

Eh, it tastes fake and artificial. And I guess that would be fine if it tasted really good, but it’s not that good. Better iced and with sugar, but it gets really light that way. Like the flavors are supressed
