I can taste almond more than coconut and rooibos more than black tea in this blend. It’s smooth and pleasant. I want to thank MandyB for sending me this one! It’s been a while since I have had anything from Teavana!

This is WONDERFUL (thanks Lori!)—-you can taste each individual flavor distinctly…got the almonds, got the vanilla, got, the rooibos, got the other goodies. Very, very sweet, without needing additional sugar. Spending a lazy Mother’s Day sipping, rocking and listening to Pushing Daisies soundtrack (gift from teenage son) and getting the leaky toilet fixed (gift from husband).

Heat advisory continues … still experimenting with what’s good cold. This is, but next round I will double up on tea or steeping time or both to keep the flavor from wimping out.

This is super-sweet, almost to the point of being cloying. I steeped a tumbler of this today and added a half-teaspoon of mate to add a kick. The mate toned down the sweetness a little and made it a really smooth, nice morning getter-goer.

Probably too sophisticated to pair with my Hot Fudge Sundae Pop-Tart this morning, but it works.

Tried this blend today courtesy of Meghann M (Thanks Meghann). When I opened the package vanilla tones hit me and the woodsy smell of rooibos. I pour a teaspoon and see small bits of coconut and there too I identified the rooibos that I thought I had smelled. As I said before I like most black teas and this one does have black tea in the list of ingredients but I don’t taste the black tea (at all) I mostly taste rooibos and vanilla while it’s not a bad combination I would like to be able to pick up on the black tea a little more (but that’s just me). As I have said in some of my previous post me a rooibos can go either way it’s kinda a hit or miss sorta thing (same goes for chai’s) and this one is okay. I’ve been in search of a good chai and while this one is not quite it I can see why others would find it appealing. I would like to try it with milk and MAYBE sugar too but unfortunately I am out of milk right now (Thanks to my teenager who is a bottomless pit). I will try this next time I have milk and post the results. Thanks again Meghann!

This has been sitting on my shelf for a while so I thought I’d make a pitcher to keep in the fridge for finals. Still working on the perfect tea to milk ratio. I’m still new to adding milk to drinks.

Taken with a bit of condensed milk to give it more of that sweetness and lightness in color that I’m used to at restaurants. I’m still working out the milk to tea ratio though.

Still playing around with this one to get the right condensed milk to whole milk to tea leaves to water ratio for me. I’ve almost got it this time… just a little too much condensed milk.

I’m starting to figure out how much milk I like in my tea so it’s getting better!

If it seems like I’m drinking this tea a lot it’s because whenever I make a “milk” tea I always make it bulk so I can keep it in a fridge. However, I only have one pitcher which means that I can only keep one type of tea at time.

So I’m trying to finish all my Thai Tea because my Masala Chai just came in the mail from Adagio!

I added way too much condensed milk this time so it’s much sweeter than I like.

I brewed this up last night for the fridge, and I’ve been sipping on it all day… sometimes with a drizzle of milk to make it more like Thai Iced Tea, and while it’s awesome like that, I think I’m enjoying it just as much without the milk.

It’s yummy.

This was nice enough plain, sweet, with the rooibos and coconut coming through most strongly. With a bit of cream though, it’s delicious; very rich, smooth, sweet. It would be good with a bit of sugar, but it’s plenty sweet without. I’d put it in the chai category, personally, despite the lack of actually spices, something about the vanilla/rooibos/almond; in fact, I should try preparing it chai-latte style next time.

Yeah, Meghann M I almost want to curse you for sending me this. I’ve avoided Teavana pretty well so far, but I think this is the tea that will make me cave. I don’t even like coconut that much! But this just has this rich, soft, well-blended flavor; I like the nuttiness the rooibos adds, and appreciate that it lowers the caffeine content a little too. 2nd steep is weaker but drinkable, especially if you add a little more plain black tea or rooibos to give it some heft.

This is aptly named: it’s like a gentler (less spicy, less sweet) warm version of Thai Iced tea (which I also adore). I will likely be buying more once this bag runs out.

ETA: Does anyone know for certain whether this has natural/artificial flavorings (beyond the coconut, vanilla, and almond pieces listed?) I’m skeptical that it doesn’t, and the Teavana webpage isn’t really clear – just something I like to take into account in ratings.

This is really growing on me; I might have to buy more (when this generous portion from Meghann M runs out) despite my moderate dislike of Teavana. This tea is okay plain but a bit of cream really brings out the nutty richness. The rooibos gives it a woodsy/fruity base, and lowers the overall caffeine per cup (which I consider a plus).

One of my favorite flavored black teas (at least at the moment).

Giving up on herbal throat teas for the time being and spoiling myself with this – it is deliciously desserty with a bit of honey and milk. Does this mean I’ll actually have to patronize Teavana someday? :( Thanks nonetheless to Meghann M!

I blended this with a Vanilla Red tea, and it became quite a nice full-bodied tea to wake me up, but with a fair subtlety. This blend is more suitable in the morning, though.

In my quest to find the best Thai Tea Blend Tea Blend, I tried blending this with Masala Chai. It was really good, but is missing one flavor that would make it the perfect tea. I honestly do not know what it is- the black tea was a little too much, and there was a spice or flavor that could have made the entire tea much richer. I’m determined to figure out what it is, or if I just need to use more parts of the Thai Tea.

I still love this tea, and I’m glad it’s been tucked away since they discontinued it. It still tastes just as good as before.

I can’t figure out if I like it better hot or cold. I think it’s sweet enough on its own, and the flavor is so good that I don’t want to ruin it with milk, so I don’t make any sort of fake Thai iced tea.

I can taste everything in here: vanilla, almond, coconut. It doesn’t come off like a cookie like other teas I have of this same flavor, which is nice. Like I said, it’s just sweet enough.

My mom bought some of the more expensive “Thai tea” they introduced after killing this one off but she left it in the bag from the store so I guess I won’t be trying it anytime soon to see if it even tastes the same. I think it smelled spicier than this one so booooo Teavana, this one was good.

I can’t decide if I want to finish this or hold onto it as long as possible, which has been awhile now.

I made this to try to drink while at school, but it stays so hot in my tumbler that only now, over 4 hours later, can I drink it.

It has kind of made it taste better, I think. I’m sure it’s probably from the rooibos escaping through the filter and sitting in there for so long, but it tastes more almondy and bolder than usual. Coconut is still there. And me, I’m still mad this is discontinued, because it’s creating this endless cycle of not wanting to use it, but wanting the jar for other teas now.

At first taste, I thought it was pretty decent (this was with nothing added and it was hot). I will try it again with sugar and report.

Update: I tried it again with a little rock sugar, it’s still pretty good. It’s not like the tea you get in a Thai restaurant, it is tea with common flavors from Thailand. The only complaint is that there is a fair amount of the tea that gets through the strainer/basket/ball, this is annoying in my opinion, but does not take away from the tea. Worth a taste.

Update II: So I have been drinking a lot of different teas to try and expand my horizons, but I keep coming back to this one. At the end of just about every day, I wind up having this one again, and I have to say, that I really have grown very fond of it. I’m not sure if the first batch I got was stale or if Teavana revamped the formula, but the sample I got last week is so fragrant and delicious that I find myself brewing it daily. I have changed my formula a little: hot water, few crystals of rock sugar, and brew for five minutes and fantastic! I am upping the rating.

Backlogging Yesterday.

I usually save this tea as my dessert tea because I like it with half and half – I think that the half and half adds something; a creamy, smooth, almost savory taste blended well with this sweet nutty tea. However, I ignored my usual standards yesterday and had this first thing in the morning!

No real updates about it, nothing overwhelmingly new.

Happened to travel by a Teavana yesterday and decided, on a whim, to go inside and get a cuppa of my favorite. While I was paying, I was told that it is actually being discontinued…Sad Cinoi…so I bought a pound – I will save the rest for all of you…sigh

I’m not going to lie, I was really in the mood for coconuts for most of today. So I actually started my day with a pot of this, made it hot, with a tiny bit of half and half in each cup.

The tea is of course coconut with some nutty taste, the black and rooibos blend nicely together and then the half and half adds a smooth creaminess that it was otherwise missing.

Still one of my favorites :)

All Work and No Tea Makes Cinoi Very Annoyed.

Currently rectifying the above issue with this tea. It is towards the end of the tin. I have no idea how old this tea is at this point, but I know that I still love it, it is still fresh in the tin and I am glad I could turn to this in my time of need right now.

Ahh, my personal favorite for a cold and rainy day. I have drank this so much now, I have perfected the art of this tea. Place two heaping teaspoons of the tea into infuser basket, add just below boiling water, cover and allow to steep for three minutes. Add a pinch of sugar to help bring the macadamia/almond/coconut blends to the surface. Remove infuser, poor and enjoy!

Since I have been drinking a lot of this, I will up the rating which I now notice is low. This is currently one of my favorite teas. Previous rating: 82.

Ahh, sweet and full bodied, delicious and warm way to start my day. Taken hot, no additives.

A friend gave us this tea to try and I’m so glad she did. I am really disappointed to learn it was discontinued. I have looked many places trying to find a replacement, but have failed so far.
I think the black and rooibos teas balance each other out especially when combined with the coconut, almonds and vanilla. Sweet, smooth and mellow. I really enjoy this tea.

Can’t go wrong with coconut milk and far too much sugar.

Teavana’s Thai blend has a huge flavor, a compelling aroma and a wonderful texture. The coconut taste is what I expected, and it’s robust. The vanilla and almond add a savory sweetness. The combination of red and black produces a velvety cup and it’s a full bodied cup. I give this one a perfect score because it has a wild, exotic flavor. I went through it very, very fast. The second time I bought 8 ounces and served it at a party and non-tea drinkers said wow. I especially enjoy “anytime” tea blends and this one is nice at breakfast, lunch, afternoon, dinner, and after-dinner. It’s not too sweet on its own to be a dessert tea. But if you add sweetener it can be one. I drink this blend “neat” every time but it’s probably great with milk or cream.

This tea is awful. Don’t waste your money! It has very little taste and just as little aroma. I have tried steeping it with milk and other fresh spices, nothing can fix it.

I don’t really taste any vanilla or coconut in my tea. Kinda tastes like a mild herbal tea to me. Not bad, but realy not much flavor.

When I’m in the mood for thick, creamy, sweet tea, I have been reaching for this blend by Teavana. It satisfies my need for dessert, and today I have had four cups so far (and my tea “cup” is actually an 8 oz. mug!). It’s just so perfumey and yummy!

I’m curious to know whether the past reviews of this tea were based on Teavana’s old Thai blend or the new Thai blend. The last time I bought Thai from Teavana, in spring 2010, it was still simple, straightforward Thai tea: strong black tea with traditional Thai flavors.

The last time I stopped by Teavana for a refill was in early January. To my horror, the Thai tea I knew and loved has turned into a ghastly over-perfumed mix that they call their “interpretation of the popular Thai iced tea blend.” To be fair, this blend might taste quite nice iced, and I will try it this summer. For now, I bemoan the departure from what I deem “true” Thai tea into this over-flavoured mix of assam, rooibos, star anise, almonds, and “a bevy of” Thai spices.

I feel like Teavana hijacked my Thai tea. :( Now I have to find it elsewhere!

Maybe I’m not in the mood for this tea, or maybe I was just expecting too much from it, but it’s not impressing me all that much.

This blend smells of caramel and coconut and has a orange brown liquor. The flavor is black tea with a hint of coconut and a slight woodsy taste (from the rooibos?). I don’t taste the almond, but I’m not to the bottom of my cup yet.

This tea doesn’t need sugar or milk, but I may try with both on my 2nd cup. Its a nice smooth tea, and affordable as an everyday tea, but I prefer the Earl Grey Creme to this cup at the moment.

This just did not have any flavor today. Blech! I still drank it though as I needed a little bit of caffeine boost. This may be a “pay it forward” I don’t think this tea is for me at all. Lightly sweet but not a strong enough tea base. Looking forward to the bottom of this cup.

Brewed this once so far, and I wasn’t impressed, as it turned out rather flat. It did improve as it cooled. Next time I will use more tea, I think, and maybe add a bit of sugar.

I like this – it’s a very smooth and filling blend that I appreciate in the afternoon to keep the munchies away. I drink it straight up, and quite enjoy the nutty caramel-like flavor.
