From Teavana

Decadent rich chocolate marries elegant Italian style orange marmalade to evoke the flavor of chocolate covered orange slices. Threads of sweet chili threads unite this dynamic cup by adding a whisper of heat and spice to the infusion.

Sweet chocolate Cocoa forward with bright orange & hints of sweet spice, chilithreads.

Teeny Tiny TTB!

Ohh this one smelled super nice! And tasted nice as well.
Nice chocolate at the beginning of the cup, and near the end I was starting to get the orange. Overall, a nice cuppa :)

Eeewwwwwwww!

I was scared of this one because I thought it might be killer spicy like RiverTea’s Chocolate Kisses Chili; turns out I was right to be scared of it, just for a different reason.

I got through about three sips of this, and then I just couldn’t do it anymore and dumped the rest of it. What I tasted was sour/rancid oranges paired with overly medicinal orange and then a dusty/stale kind of chocolate. No noticeable spice. Ick. Ick. Ick.

I’m gonna have to try cold brewing the rest of what VariaTEA sent me to use it up; there’s no way I’m trying this again hot! Bleck.

I did not like it either. You can always swap/sell/junk the rest of it.

This tea has a good balance between the orange and the chocolate flavors. However, it doesn’t have much of the kick that I was hoping for with the chili strands.

I was amazed to realize exactly how much chocolate is in this tea, as evidenced by how chocolate “saucey” it was when it was done steeping. If you are one who sometimes gets lazy about dumping the used tea and washing your steeper, making a point to remember with this is a MUST if you want to get it easily clean.

That said, I enjoy how chocolatey it is. I wish it had a bit more spice, because I can also taste the orange pretty well. As it is now, it does taste like a chocolate orange, being about 60% chocolate and 38% orange and just the tiniest bit of spice I taste. It is good, I will enjoy finishing it, but I don’t think I enjoy it enough to repurchase. I’d just drink hot chocolate instead.

I read so many negative things about Teavana, but their website is so pretty and all the teas are nicely presented and seem delicious… I had to try some of them out. When they had their “Heavenly sale – 50% off” for Boxing Day, I went a bit crazy. It was so cheap and I needed to buy for at least 50$ to get free shipping, so… Yeah, I bought a LOT of tea.

Anyway ! :)

I haven’t tried them all yet, but from what I’ve tasted so far I don’t think I’ll ever be a fan of the company. As for this tea… I’m not quite sure. I’m a huge fan of chocolate and orange together and I had already tasted and loved Chocolate Orange from David’s Tea so I had high hopes…

For one thing, I like the fact that it’s herbal. I’m working late tonight and I felt like something sweet and chocolaty, so it’s a good thing it’s caffeine free. The smell of the dry leaf is quite artificial, but still made me want to try… I’m not sure about the taste. I can taste the orange alright, but no chocolate at all. A little bit of cinnamon maybe? Very artificial anyway. I’ll be able to finish the bag, but won’t be buying any again.

Oh well. I’m still enjoying it while I wait for midnight to come so I can go home…

I brewed this tea for 6 minutes at 210 in my cast iron pot. You can immediately smell the citrus as it’s steeping. To no surprise, that same bold tangy orange citrus is the first note I can taste. The notes of chocolate and spice are subtle but very, very tasty. I sweetened this with a very small amount of rock sugar.

As a side note, as it cooled, I felt as though I could taste more of the chocolate.

Overall, I really like this tea. The fact that it was 75% off also doesn’t hurt ;)

I got this in my latest online order from Teavana, and I am not crazy about it. I had some last night and added some half and half to it to make it seem more dessert-y, but it just did not seem to help. I steeped this for about 10 minutes and it just does not seem to have a strong chocolate or citrus flavor, it just seems very thin. Definitely not my favorite dessert tea. This might be because I am comparing it to Teavana’s Mudslide, which seemed to have a much fuller flavor. Maybe next time I drink this I will try mixing it with some Vanilla Honeybush and see if that helps.
