Peach Tranquility

Fruit Herbal Blend by Teavana

A delightfully harmonious blend of candied peach pieces, pineapple, lemon myrtle, Roman chamomile, sunflower petals and rosehips create a most peaceful blend.

How to Prepare
Use 1.5 teaspoons of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to 208 degrees and steep for 5-6 minutes. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.
Ingredients:
Apples, candied pineapple, candied peach pieces, sunflower petals, lemon myrtle leaves, roman chamomile, and rosehips.

I somehow went from owning absolutely no teas from Teavana to having a ton in the span of about a week. First there was the Heavenly Sale, and then I got some as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend’s mom! I was definitely not expecting that, since I know without all the sales Teavana can be quite pricey. I got the nice box set that has what are apparently their 4 bestselling teas—Earl Grey, the Acai Blueberry one, Sevenberry Sangria, and this. I haven’t tried any of them before!

This smells so strongly of ripe, fresh peaches in the bag, it’s very soft and lovely. I noticed that there’s no hibiscus in the ingredients list, which is an automatic plus in my book. Even though it’s the middle of winter I cold brewed this one because really, how am I supposed to drink hot peach tea? With ginger, sure, but just peach (especially an herbal) needs to be cold for me.

My first thought was “ugh, why does Teavana always have to put something sour in their blends?!” No hibiscus here, but there are rosehips for no discernible reason. Peaches are not tart, they’re sweet, so why are they here? The peach taste is spot on, and I would probably rank this in the high 80’s if not for the sour note that comes at the end of the sip. It’s not overwhelming or anything and this is certainly a nice drinkable tea, but I find myself really confused by the sour element that just doesn’t belong at all. Especially after getting a bunch of peach teas from Lupicia, which are, y’know, not laden down by random extra ingredients.

I think I might experiment with blending the rest of this, perhaps with a ginger or lemon tea so the sour note doesn’t seem so out of place. Like most Teavana teas, it definitely has a lot of blending potential!

Another tea I purchased with the 25% off friends and family…and another Teavana tea that I just do not enjoy. Unfortunately, everything I buy from them seems to be on my “ugh” list.

It smells great. I smelled it in store, as they wafted it across the desk at me with the giant lid of their tea-wall containers. Juicy pear, sweetness, a ting of floral were all things I detected in the scent. (At Teavana they LOVE to WAFT the scent at you with such force its amazing!)

As the tea steeped it smelled great as did the dry leaves.

Sadly, the flavor does not meet the expectations. I taste candied peaches with such a fuzzy mouthfeel that it just makes me purse my lips.

I know other tasters have liked this one. I will be making a swap list for the discussion board later this week and this will be in it…anyone want it?

Shmiracles

Shadowfall! i recieved your swap box!

and i’m so excited to try them all, so many of them smell amazing!
but since it is late in the day my sister and i made a pot of the herbal tea :)

we just had to have this tea. it’s scent was a big peachy bomb the minute i opened the bag. perhaps it’s the fact that it’s a gift from a fellow steepster or that i’m sharing a pot with my sister, but it was not too tart and not too sweet and really warmly peachy. i thought i didn’t like the fruit teas too much, but now i finally realized it’s the fruits they choose. i’m all for something more subtle like peaches as opposed to something like the usual pineapple and cranberry heavy blends. if i happen to be near a teavana, i MIGHT even consider buying this.

i approve!

Thanks Alphakitty! I thought this would be a good one before bed. I have had too much sugar and caffeine today. The aroma of this herbal is pretty peachy and juicy. At first the flavor is ok. There is that peachy, juiciness I was smelling… but then it just turns to a bad sugary aftertaste like cheap peach candy. Maybe it’s all of the candied fruit? For some reason I don’t really do well with heavy fruit herbals :\ Even the really well done ones. Maybe next time I’ll go with trying it iced.
Thanks again!

I don’t get insomnia often, but the last few nights I’ve been online late & by the time I laid down, my head was racing with thoughts, conversations, images, & ideas. Last night it took an hour of Cryptoquips (I must have been a Navaho code talker in a previous life, cuz I’m really good at breaking codes, & they help to empty my mind), yoga asanas, a warm heating pad, & a double dose of Valerian Tincture to finally go to sleep.

I thought I’d end the day with Republic of Tea’s Chamomile lemon. When I need a sleep aid, I put 2 teabags in my cup, with a little extra Valerian. So tonight I started the water, opened the canister, and what? Hmmmm…I think that’s some long forgotten black tea with Jasmine that a friend gave me back in the 90’s. Must have neglected to label it.

Luckily, I have a tin of Peach Tranquility. This is one of the first teas I bought from Teavana when they opened their doors. I was playing an Xmas gig at a local mall on Saturdays & Sundays during the month of December years ago. Teavana was new, & I fell in love. My 4 children (& a few students) gave me Teavana giftcards, & it was an awesome Holiday season!

Peach Tranquility is such a beautiful herbal tea, loaded with little chunks of dried peach, pineapple, apple, rosehips, chamomile flowers, & some other pretty things. I always want to nibble on the dried fruit, & usually after I’ve brewed the tea I like to pick out the pieces of pineapple with chopsticks & eat them. It’s fun!

The aroma is heady, with the sweetness of Peachy, bright, cheerful, juicy goodness, served on a bed of chamomile to lull me to sleep. There’s always this sensation that I don’t have words for, something I feel under my tongue. I think it’s from the pineapple, so I’ll call it tart & lively.(I actually tried googling a list of ‘oral sensations’, thinking I’d find a word to match what I felt. Sadly, there were only links to a porn site by that name. Call me naive. I didn’t go there).

This is a sweet & tasty tea that I’ve enjoyed for years, & (you’ll be glad to know) I refresh my supply fairly often!

47,203 words and counting!
I’m still sipping steepings of Pu’er and Zhu Rong, but I like to think that I’ve washed all the caffeine and ‘energy’ out of them by now.
Meanwhile, I was digging for something sweet and caffeine free, and “Oh, Yay! I didn’t know I still had some of this!” Little Terri said.

This is probably my most favorite Teavana Blend (there aren’t really that many that I like, to be honest). I use a heaping T per cup, sweeten it with stevia, and it’s a heavenly dessert. Yum num, slurpin it down! Now back to my story…

Meghann M was nice enough to send me this one (among others) – I’m so grateful for TEA FREAKS with the same obsession for tea, aren’t you!?

Anyhow…this one smells lovely! I’m a little afraid since it’s a fruity herbal…but I’m game!!!!

This is listed on steepster as an herbal but it looks and ALMOST tastes like a flavored white. The more I smell it the more it reminds me of a peach wine I had last fall in Finger Lakes Region.

YUM. Yes, I said YUM. Are you shocked!? I “think” I am. Then again, I am not sure if I am shocked or not…I DO like peach. BUT…it’s the herbal and the Teavana terms that threw me…lately I have found LOTS of Teavana herbals and even non-herbals to be VERY tarty-fruity most of the time over the top! But this is nice! I’m drinking it HOT but am certain it will be just as good if not better ICED.

Yum…JUICY.

I’m having a cuppa before sending to a friend…

Last night I went over to imabandgeek4eva’s house for brownies and tea, and after perusing her tea collection I picked out Peach Tranquility for us to drink. I’d never had it before, but peach is always good, right? Plus, black tea + late at night = no sleep = bad for work the next day (like my math?) so an herbal blend with chamomile seemed like a promising nightcap.

P. T., it turns out, is an AWESOME blend. It has a lovely delicacy and a smooth, even texture. Of course there’s the peach, which is like the light sweetness of a fresh white peach rather than the heavy, cloying flavor of canned peaches. Chamomile and rosehips add to the mild, subtle flavor. I want to emphasize that it is a light tea, not a weak tea.
Great for sleepy time. It’s not an instant knock-out, so while we were socializing I was fine, but instead of tossing and turning for half an hour before finally going to sleep I was out like a light after my head hit the pillow. Sweet.

Imabandgeek4eva blended it with Silver Needle White tea, and the combination worked really well.

Got this as a TTG after work, as I was on my way to a girl’s night “spa night” so I thought I would give this one a go. It was pretty good. Smelled pretty peachy, but it was pretty mild. While there was no hibiscus, there was rose hips which are still tart, but not as much. So I like this tea, for an herbal. It was fine hot and once it cooled, so it is a versatile one. I might get some for summer, but I dunno. I like it but i don’t love it. It would be a nice one for evenings at home though. So maybe…

This is a wonderful tea by itself or blended with other teas. My new favorite blend: Strawberry Rose Champagne oolong (Teavana) with Peach Tranquility. It perks me up and warms my soul.

Sometimes after a long day, I will have a cup or pot of this tea to relax. I love the taste and flavor, too. It’s wonderful!

Wonderful fresh peach taste. Not at all like a black tea with peach you might find in a restaurant. It is a mild tea with enjoyable fruit taste. This is fantastic mixed with an earthy black tea. It is easy to over-sweeten this tea, be careful with the sugar.

I steeped the heck out of this one today and… MMMmmmmmm! So nice. I’m going to pick up more today, I think I NEED it. :)

Thank you teaequalsbliss for giving me some of this. I can see all of the ingredients and this smells citrus like with chamomile. I steeped this up and the taste is light peach citrus like with chamomile. This tea is pretty good. I had a cup earlier this morning.

I bought this awhile back with the intention of making iced tea, however the weather has made it all but impossible to enjoy a nice glass of iced tea on our new patio (that we built ourselves ::pats self on back::). I woke up today and it was 50 outside… in June… looks like I’ll have to blend this with some white tea and drink it hot.

I’ve had this before as a blend with Teavana’s Strawberry Rose Champagne which wasn’t bad as long as I didn’t order it to go from Teavana. They have a rather nasty habit of dumping a ton of German Rock Sugar in every drink they make (without telling you first). This isn’t terrible as long as you don’t add sugar to it, that makes it tastes like Peach Os. I made the mistake of drinking my second steep with a little bit of sugar this morning. Peach O tea for breakfast, yum.

This wasn’t overly strong, but it was very sweet due mostly to the candied pineapple. It isn’t something I would drink right before bed, even though it is a tisane, due to the fact that it has sugar in it. Then I would have to get up and brush my teeth again. I like to enjoy my last cup of the day snuggled into bed with my baby as we read our bedtime stories.

My main objection is that the sales staff at Teavana told me this was a healthy option if I liked flavored herbal tea. I’m really not sure how anyone considers a tea with candied anything healthy.

So I mixed a leftover cup of Adagio’s White Blueberry with what was left of my Peach Tranquility from breakfast, it was roughly 16oz of each. This worked out pretty good, I can taste the white tea and it cut down on the Peach O taste.

Let me just say that I love peach! And this does not disappoint. It is my new favorite nighttime herbal. I also want to start adding it to some of my peach white and green teas to add some extra peach to them. Love this tea!

Delish! I like this one a lot. It was a soft, sweet peachy flavour that was nice and soothing/relaxing, and it was prefect for the evening. I’m really going to enjoy this one.

I finished this off. It’s very good, but not at all strongly flavored. The peach flavor tastes very, very natural, not artificial at all.

I’ll probably buy it again, unless I can find a peach tisane that tastes like this but stronger.

This tea has somewhat changed from the 2012 stock, but it’s still fantastic! Tart with a clean citrus “bite”, mostly from the verbena and pineapple. There is a distinctive earthy, almost woodlike taste to this tea, which I love. The newer version is not as sweet and floral as last year. There is an obvious difference between the two but it’s still great!

Iced this tea is the bees knees! I can’t get enough of that, rich, thick, sticky peach nectar quality when it’s steeped for a good hour or more! I’ve mixed this with a great quality black tea such as Golden Monkey and its just like a Peach Snapple (without all those crazy sugars and additives!)

So far one of my favourite teas!

Made this mixed with some Strawberry Paraiso from Teavana. SO YUM. Tastes like a delicious fruity mix. This is one of my favorite combos any time of the day. Probably would be amazing as an iced mix too – may have to try that!

Right now this is just about the perfect tea for me, because I am stressed out, reacting badly to caffeine and in need of a gentle pick-me-up. I find Peach Tranquility to be a soothing, luxurious treat on its own and it blends really well with other teas (especially Teavana’s Shanghai Orchid or Wild Orange Blossom teas, the first accentuates Peach Tranquility’s mellow notes and adds floral overtones while the second adds contrasting peppy citrus notes). It is sweet and fruity and mellow, with a strong taste of peach, but lots of other notes to give it complexity. And when I say sweet I mean it has quite a bit of sugar in it from all the candied fruit in the blend! The way I prepare it is to add 4 tablespoons of tea to my pot and steep it for about 10 minutes in four cups of boiling water – if it is a little chilly after that I just heat it up in the microwave. Not the way I would treat a fine tea, sure, but this is a fruit infusion and it can stand up to that sort of treatment, it is pretty robust. The resteep is often a little weak for my taste so I add one more tablespoon of tea to the mix and then it is just fine.

Light, yet full of flavors of pineapple, apple , and peach. Yellow color. Very delectable. Citrus splash. Put an extra scoop in mine for extra flavoring. Let steep for about 6 minutes. Such a treat! :)

One of my favorite teas ever, I use to put about .50oz. Organic Chamomile on the original 2oz. bag to empower my sleeping time.

I got Acute Insomnia and that really make me sleep all night long & strong even if someone make a party near me, it don’t wake me!

I usually drink it before my last shower, mostly on medium warm to compliment it with a hot shower of Mandarin essential oil that also help relieve anxiety and stress.
