Not bad for a mate, but wouldn’t buy.

One of my personal favorites. I add lots of sugar to it to bring out the fruitiness in the tea to the level of the spices.

This will be my second tasting note for this tea; it’s somewhat a special note in that I was a bad girl.

I re-brewed a teaspoon of leaves for a second taste one night. The results surprised me. The usual spiciness was dissipated significantly and the tea mostly only had its fruity flavors included. Along with a heaping teaspoon of sugar, there were also significant artificial overtones brought out; I got the sensation of eating a fruity kid’s cereal. There was barely any bitterness despite this second brewing, however. It was still enjoyable, and I will not change my rating, but that rating is more for my note from the fresh brew awhile back.

This is my favorite tea. Sometimes I brew it as instructed and other times I will use a loose-leaf mesh teabag and leave it in my mug the whole time. It never seems to get bitter and the later sips bring some powerful spice flavors!

Tried this at Teavana store. Delicious. Following the directives re: temp and steep time, got the same fabulous flavor at home. Drinking this one now. :) Love, love, love!

Although it has caffeine, I find it very relaxing.

I like this flavor mixed with my white ayurvedic white chai. Question though, does anyone know which out of those two flavors have caffeine? Thx!

Really good stuff. Only had it in the store, but it’s meh when hot. It’s awesome when iced & sweetened, though!

Tried this at the Teavana. Had it as a hot sample. Tasted great, but I couldn’t really get much depth from the flavor until I asked to buy it iced with a bit of sugar added… it was just an okay, hot peppery drink. This blend (sweet or otherwise) really comes through when iced! I think I’m gonna cold brew this when I buy it. I’m thinkin’ that’ll make a really nice contrast by adding the smoothness of a cold brew to the peppery kick of the blend.

Wait, there’s white tea in there? And I couldn’t taste the Mate, either. I’ve posted this before, but I wonder if Teavana is just making an excuse to sell cheap spices and herbs at a very high price, only because they put next-to-nothing amounts of supposedly high quality tea in it. First of all, if the tea quality truly is as high as they say it is, then what a waste of tea! A lower quality white tea would do much better to reduce the price, and the flavor would not be tainted at all, considering that all other ingredients simply overpower the tea flavor. IMO, this is more of a tisane, not a tea.

“Do you like chai?” I ask the fish-customer as she hands me her sample cup. I don’t even wait for her enthusiastic “YES!” before I start to fill the cup with the chai blend. Again, I remind her of the unfounded health benefits that we claim for white tea, and I also tell her about the benefits of mate. I notice her desirous reaction to the words “appetite suppression” and I make a mental note to emphasize this quality as I lead her to the rare tea sample.
Again, my conscience kicks in. Should I tell her that studies have shown that mate may cause cancer? After all, she deserves to hear the pros and cons together, so that she can make a truly educated decision. But no, my hunger for that big ticket leads me closer to the kill.

I’m a HUGE chai fan and this is a great chai mix. It’s spicy and sweet with a huge depth of flavors. It has some citrus notes, peppery hit and a burst a cinnamon. When I first made this tea I brewed for recommended time and found it very weak. Maybe I just like my teas strong but I let the tea brew for a long while and enjoyed it much more. I add a bit a sugar because I think it helps bring out the flavors.

Delicious! I’m surprised at how much I like this tea because I normally don’t like a lot of spices. But this tea blend works! :D

This is my absolute favorite tea but I can’t drink too much of it at a time because the spices irritate my acid reflux something awful. I make it with two tablespoons of Teavana’s rock sugar which I keep in the same can as the tea. The sugar absorbs the flavor of the tea and the tea is sweet and spicy and absolutely delicious by itself or with milk.

This blend is very hit or miss for me. When it’s good, its spicy complexity reaches a balance of perfection but when it’s bad, it can come across overwhelmingly peppery and even on occasion weak. It’s definitely been a finicky brew for me.

EDIT: I think I’ve finally figured the steeping for this and now it’s my go to tea when I need a little motivation to get stuff done. No less than 6 minutes.

Just the aroma of this blend is spectacular! Even more so when its all ready to drink.. Can’t get enough of this. This blend is the favourite at work, could have it all day long and not get tired of the flavour. Really fragrant, really delicious.

This tea is an absolute must for me. I like it with a bit of honey to wake up the flavor. It’s sweet and warm and spicy and citrus-y and it just makes me a little bit happier every time I drink it. This is my go-to comfort tea.

A soft velvety, almost citrus taste with a spice after taste.

I really like this tea, had it as a sample, and I’ve never like chai. This is a good warming tea after a hard day or a good tea for nausea or stomach issues. This is really good w/ raw sugar but even better w/ teavanas rock sugars. Ive always been confused as if this tea contained caffeine or not???

Iced or hot, this blend is possibly the most perfect chai you will ever have.

It is very citrusy, but is also overcome with spices galore with combined white tea and mate that gives it its very distinct delicious taste.

It is a blend you can drink all the time and not get tired of.

There is a reason why I rate this tea the highest among all teas I’ve ever had.

Most black teas, and black tea blends especially, have a certain astringency to their flavor, which in certain points adds more than anything to the overall enjoyment.

But, there can be so much you can take, not only with these certain characteristics of black tea but also with how specific flavors need to cooperate to harmonize the overall taste.

At times, you can really miss the brightness of a really great white tea, and the subtle detailing of a really great white tea blend.

This tea is consistently and deliciously bright and cheerful, with bursts of spices over lemon grass and citrus, always a great way to start, continue or end any day.

The spices also give a delightful kick if enjoyed after a 10-15 minute cooling, hot but not scalding hot.

This is also my first 2012 cup of tea at work.

Still as delicious as it was in 2011.

Second steep, as sweet and spicy as ever.

It doesn’t really lose it’s flavor the second time around like most teas, it still maintains a very equal brightness with a slight kick.

This sweet and spicy chai blend continues to bring great joy with each sip, not only invigorating the body with energy, but also the soul.

I little over a teaspoon of tea leaves with half a teaspoon of rock sugar and the flavor is consistently bright and lush as ever.

Delicious late morning tea.

Perfect follow up to Spice of Life, this morning is a white tea morning.

This tea never disappoints, continuing to warm my soul with every sip.

An afternoon of winter’s first blanket arrival, confined by my desk until the day’s only light fades into the November skies.

Steeping this tea always makes me forget the worst of each day, and today is no different. The air is cooling, the ground quickly covering with snow. For now, I can only sit in the comforts of my office with a cup of this wonderful chai tea to keep me warm.

As autumn transitions to winter, this tea is one of few things that is keeping me from going insane waiting for autumn to end.

It is still sweet and spicy as ever, the colorfully bright citrus flavors dance as my mind drifts from the miserable rainy weather to late spring of this year in Chicago when I first sampled this blend.

This is my daily tea, mainly steeped in the early or late afternoon.

The spices and citrus accents make it perfect to enjoy anytime during the afternoon and consistently explodes with every sip.

What better way to bring in the new year of 2012? With your favorite Teavana blend.

Oh, how I’ve missed my favorite chai blend.

Despite acquiring a lot of quality tea over the weekend, this blend is always a staple to my daily tea consumption.

Just realized I’ve been oversteeping this tea, as it is flavored white tea, it should be steeped for 2 minutes instead of 3.

It is less bitter, a bit lighter on spice, but the flavor is still bright and full, and this is still my favorite chai blend.

I bought this after sampling it in the store. I agree with the other reviewers who found that they could not get the same flavor brewing it at home. When I brew it, it is a fairly watery chai that tastes most strongly of cloves. I think the secret must be large quantities of tea with a hefty dose of sweetener to bring out the other flavors. It’s not terrible, but it’s not the best chai I’ve had. I prefer Tao of Tea’s Mate Chai – it has a more robust and complex flavor, and costs almost a dollar less per ounce.

Tried this at the Teavana store today and loved it. Picked up a couple ounces of each tea to take home and sample. Really enjoying it.

Great blend perfect way to cut the Samauri’s power down a bit. Yum!

This is one of my favorite chai blends. I like to brew it strong; for me, at least, that brings the pepper notes out more. I’ll drink this tea iced or hot, but I prefer it hot. Lately I’ve been adding a touch of honey to it, but I also think that it’s delicious on its own.
