This was very good! I didn’t use nearly the amount of dry tea suggested in the description — I used 2-1/2 tsp for a 16-oz mug, and steeped for almost 10 minutes. A really nice blend of sweet, and slightly tart or tangy, fruits. (Thanks to Starfevre for this sample.) Great for when I’m in the mood for a fruit tea.
(And I, umm, ate most of the fruit afterwards. Hehe.)

So today…. is the last episode of my beloved balm Supernatural after all these years.  I will miss it dearly!  I’m always having epic Supernatural themed dreams.  Once, a cathedral aflame with pterodactyls flying around… IN the flaming cathedral.  Fun.

Thanks again for the swap, AJRimmer!  I think this is the last of the Teavivre hibiscus blends I needed to write tasting notes for.  And yet again, not much to say, the blend itself is full of red ingredients, so no surprise when the flavor is mostly hibiscus.  Also a slight hint of possibly orange.  The second steep is much more toned down on the scarlet and tartness – but probably all of the other flavors are less as well.  So more bland overall, even if I’m also losing the hibiscus.  The brew is now orange.  And now that I’m reading Teavivre’s description, it also mentions a heavy orange note. (My blend also looks much more full of hibiscus than the photo is.) Maybe I can try handpicking hibiscus out before steeping in the future, but I’m not sure what that leaves…
Steep #1  // 1 1/2 teaspoons for full mug // 10 minutes after boiling  // 2 minute steep
Steep #2  // 4 minutes after boiling //  5 minute steep

My sisters love Supernatural, but they did note that there are a fair number of not great episodes you have to get through, so I never ended up checking it out. Maybe one day!

Oh, I probably just love all the dang episodes. haha

White Antlers

I dip in and out of Supernatural. When the real world gets too challenging, there are always those 2 earnest brothers fighting the good fight…

Exactly, White Antlers! It’s been a very stable thing for 15 years.

This tea is a bit unremarkable. I put it in the fridge to take to work with me. It’s okay, just generically fruity and rather sour. It wasn’t much more expensive to get 4 oz than to get a sample, so I have unfortunately more of this tea than I’d really like to drink. I’ve had it twice now and hope to not have it many more times.

Wow, thank you Teavivre for sending this sample to me! This tea is wonderful.

Blood orange is probably my favorite of the citruses. And this tea is unmistakably blood orange. And not the peel…the juicy insides that make your mouth water. Wow. I added a bit of honey to this, but to be honest, it really didn’t need it-it has a citrus twang to it..but that only enhances the blood orangeness. :D You can just smell the sweet apple, slightly tart currants, and the beautiful orange just radiating from this cup. Wow, mmm.. this tea is delicious. Yeah, I’m going to need to order more of this for sure.

Water: 8oz Boiling

Leaves: Various mixture of petals & fruit

Steep: 9m

Aroma: Citrus

Color: Deep Red

Taste: Compared to the other herbal fruit teas I’ve tried so far this one was a more citrus in both flavor & aroma. Yet true to the other teas it had a slight tartness to it as well.
