My package doesn’t say “superfine” but it does say organic. So I think this is the right tea to log it under. Here’s hoping this note shows up despite all the recent Steepster server issues.

These leaves are really old, so this doesn’t have as much punch as I’m sure fresher leaves would imbue. But what I can taste is a delicious, delicate green tea. The liquor is so light and clear that if I didn’t know my mug had tea in it, I’d think it was filled with water. The inside of my mug is brown, which makes detecting the liquor color difficult, but I believe it’s a very pale gold.

All in all, this is a refreshing, contemplative tea. It calms the mind and quiets the stream of thoughts. The fact that it’s organic is just icing on the cake. I will make a note to get more of this when it’s time to replenish my dragon well stock. Thanks to Teavivre for the free sample! I’m really enjoying this.

This tea is good even when infused at a slightly higher temperature. I detect notes of spinach and sugar.

This is really really tasty. It is buttery without tasting oily (which I hate in tea, usually found with coconut for me), sweet, and creamy, but balances with the veggie notes really well. I also like that it is so full flavored after just one two minute steep, leaving it available for more. The leaves are long and flat and cool looking too, as a bonus. I love pretty tea.

This is such an incredible green tea. I did 5 steeps yesterday and drank this tea all afternoon. Bright, beautiful green color and it smells so good. I was happy all day!

Please note that my reviews as not as deep as some of you but I am starting and trying to do my best here. I am sure that after couple months of practice tasting teas my taste buds will detect the different flavours.

Who cares! Have fun with it! The joy is in sharing and being able to enjoy what you’re doing. As long as you’re writing how you want, that’s what’s important :) bienvenue a steepster ma belle!

It’s finally my birthdaaay! And what tea could be better at celebrating it than my favourite one, Longjing.
Only sad thing is, we still don’t have snow and it’s christmas soon, naaay.

K S

We got a little snow last night. It could have gone to you instead, really, I wouldn’t mind. Happy Birthday.

Happy birthday!

Riimu

Thanks both of you. Our snow probably got lost and went to New York this year, maybe it will find a way here soon.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it’s my 100th tasting note! Woohoooo!! It took me sometime to choose a tea and then I remembered receiving a couple samples of dragonwell from Teavivre’s reviewing contest.

Brewed Dragonwell style.

I could never tire of a good Dragonwell. This is one in which you can’t stop sticking your nose into the packet to savor the aroma of the dry leaf, which smells of ocean and seaweed and fresh vegetables. The liquor is crisp, somewhat thick, and full-bodied, with sweet vegetal notes. Aftertaste is nutty, mostly almonds. Also, the leaf has a lovely color – fresh, bright green – and steeps beautifully in a glass tumbler.

I have one of their Dragonwell teas and like it, but I think your sample is a more expensive tea.

While the Organic Nonpareil Ming Qian Dragon Well wasn’t too my taste, this sample from Amariel is more appealing.

It has spinach, an abundance of roasted nuts, and a dash of sweet butter that mixes up into a creamy nut butter. There’s a subtle touch of floral and salty notes too. Just how I like it, for the most part!

Thank you to Angel at Teavivre for this sample!

I have to admit, though I have thoroughly enjoyed all of these fresh, bright Spring 2014 green tea offerings Teavivre has sent me to try, I feel like I am no good at describing them other than to say they are crisp and vegetal, and very enjoyable. Always with the spinachy/seaweedy notes, sometimes buttery, sometimes a bit nuttier.

Always clean and fresh tasting, great for this time of year.
I used to fancy myself NOT a green tea fan, but that’s because back then I’d only tried the grossed bagged green tea dust, and I’d always used boiling water and oversteeped. No wonder I hated it!

These Spring 2014 teas have been so nice to try because I can see what green tea is supposed to taste like.

I only wish I were better at distinguishing between them all.

I think next time I am going to try three at once, do a little taste test/sip off so I can hopefully reach a new level of understanding with them. Always trying to expand my tea horizons and improve my tastebuds!

Thank you so much for sending these my way. When I want a delicious straight green tea, I know exactly where to go!

Artichoke, mint, and a slight grassy flavour, with no bitterness or astringency whatsoever. There’s also a wonderful nutty aspect to it, the mouth feel is sublime and it is very fresh. I don’t LOVE green tea, but this cup is very enjoyable.
