From Teavivre

Origin: Fuding City, Fujian Province, China

Ingredients: Tea leaves curled into small pearl shape

Taste: has fruity flavor of peach, tastes sweet, with slight jasmine fragrance showing up after the peach flavor disappeared.

Brew: 1 teaspoon for 8oz of water. Brew at 176 ºF (80 ºC) for 1 to 2 minutes (exact time depends on your taste – a longer time will give the tea a stronger taste and color)

Peach Jasmine Dragon Pearl Green Tea has a similar appearance with Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon Pearls Green Tea and Premium Jasmine Dragon Pearls Green Tea. The making skills of them are also similar. After the tea makers rolled the tea leaves into small pearl shape, they will mix the natural extractives from peach into the tea pearls. This fruity Dragon Pearl will make you feel like have actually eaten a peach.

Sipdown No. 4 today. I’d like to thank Angel @ TeaVivre for this sample.
This is a lovely, lightly vegetal green tea with a heavenly peach aroma. The jasmine is present, but only slightly. The peach flavor is very subtle, although from past experience I can say that if you add a slight amount of sweetener, it moves the peach forward a few notches. What I really like about this is the true peach flavor. So many peach teas taste (& are) artificial. This one is nice.

This is the tea I made (hot) to replace my cold brewed disaster. It was, of course, delicious. Peachy, floral, refreshing. The jasmine on this is fairly subtle but really makes this more interesting than just a standard peach flavored green tea. Glad to have a bit more of this one around.

Yum, putting that on my shopping list!

Terri HarpLady

I have enough to drink this one more time. Maybe I should add it to my sipdown extravaganza today…hmmm….relaxing bubble bath & peach jasmine pearls….yeah, that’s sounds pretty good!

I FIXED IT! I combined 2/3 these pearls, with 1/3 straight jasmine pearls. PERFECT! Just enough peach and just enough jasmine. Now that I know how delicious these can be I would definitely consider reordering :)

Fuzzy_Peachkin

I love these pearls!

TheTeaFairy

Great idea Stephanie! I get the peach also, but jasmine is totally absent in this tea for me…will try with teavivre jasmine green, ran out of the pearls.

Kamyria

Uh oh… jasmine and peach… that’s a lovely marriage I never thought of before… I think I can already taste it in my mind and I like it!

Brendan

Sounds like a good combo. Might have to get some!

TeaVivre

What a great idea! In fact, we never try to combine the two teas, and i can’t wait to try it now.

boychik

i do the same. not enough jasmine for me either

Terri HarpLady

I love experiments! These little peach pearls are lovely too.

Thank you, Shelley_Lorraine for this tea!

At first I couldn’t detect any peach or jasmine. It is a lovely, lightly vegetal, creamy green tea that tastes almost a bit salty. It’s kind of like an oolong. I’m really enjoying just that part of this tea.

As I drink and it cools, the peach grows out of tea. It blossoms, sprouts fruit and ripens until it’s dripping its juice into my mouth! yummy!

Strangely enough, I don’t taste jasmine, but I feel it. There is a cooling sensation and slight roughness that can only be from jasmine. Definitely one of the best teas I’ve had from teavivre.

BrewTEAlly Sweet

I want I want I want! I must try! :D

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Yes! Do it!

Terri HarpLady

This really is a nice little tea!

TeaVivre

The peach aroma is too strong, so we can’t smell the jasmine.
But 3 steeps later(Chinese GaiWan style), the jasmine aroma will become distinct.

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to try it that way!

TeaVivre

Chinese GaiWan is more convenient to brew tea,it’s common in china. Hope you can enjoy this tea.

The first time I made this I used too much leaf and found it somewhat bitter. But when I made it again using less leaf to water ratio and a lower steep temperature, I had a delicious and fragrant peachy green tea without the bitterness of my first attempt. Not a lot of jasmine, perhaps just a hint. Re-steeped perfectly. Lovely and refreshing!

I really like these, mixed 2/3-1/3 with straight jasmine pearls! SO GOOD!

That sounds like it would be good!

A timely and tasty afternoon tea. People have been bringing in so much candy at work. It’s the season for fattening up! I needed something light and clean to wash away the sugary coating in my mouth. This tea is perfect for the job. The peach is so refreshing and the natural tannins in green tea are great for that clean feeling. The jasmine is light. Juicy peach is the predominant flavor here, but I’m not complaining. Tasty tea. Good quality leaves. I oversteeped like whoa, but the resulting brew is barely astringent. I love teas that can stand up to my neglect. :)
There’s also that typical savory flavor I get from most Chinese greens. It’s odd next to the sweet peach but an enjoyable contrast.

In other news, I’m beside myself with excitement for BBC’s 3rd season of Sherlock. January can’t come soon enough. I haven’t fangirled so hard since I was a teen.

ashmanra

My kids just ate at Speedy’s last week! They were geeking out and taking pictures of each other out front and you can see the door they use as 221B.

Mercuryhime

I wonder if the residents find it annoying. Haha. I can only imagine what it must be like to live there when they’re filming.

TeaLady441

Sherloooooock. I’ve been reading fic nonstop since I finished S2. I’m completely ready for S3, and not at all worried I’ll be disappointed bc if the story goes off in a direction I don’t like, I still have the fic. :P

Mercuryhime

I’ve been reading lots of fics too! I’m almost afraid I won’t recognize the original characters anymore after seeing so many writers’ interpretations. I’ll just have to re-watch all the episodes. :D

Scheherazade

I can’t wait for Sherlock, either. I’m saving my Adagio fandom sampler to drink along with it :)

tea-sipper

I can’t wait as well! Two months, really!

Mercuryhime

Sherlock fans, check out this shirt!

Maybe wear this shirt while having British tea time during first episode? Sounds like a plan!

I got this from Stephanie in my Christmas package. I could have swore I ordered this in my BF Teavivre order but I got some other jasmine pearls… Hmm oh well. Anyways, I so wish I would have ordered these! They are heaven and by far my favorite jasmine pearl tea! Wow! I need these in my life. The simplicity of this tea is so indulgent at the same time. Keeps me wanting more and more and more. If I only had this tea to drink the rest of my life I would be more than satisfied with that!
I love that the peach and jasmine pair perfectly together. One isn’t stronger in flavor than the other. A perfect balance. The jasmine isn’t too perfumey like most jasmines!
Thank you so much Stephanie I envy that this is in your cupboard and not mine!
Love at first sip!

I’m all out of it now, too…I will DEFINITELY be ordering more eventually. Especially now that I know if I do a 2/3 peach and 1/3 plain jasmine pearls combo it works out just perfect for me :)

BrewTEAlly Sweet

I might have to go in on that with you!

Once again, thank you to Angel and Teavivre for the sample!

I thought I had peach-flavored myself out on teas lately, but I’m quite glad I hadn’t after this one.

Dry, this leaf smells like peach nectar (the stuff you can buy in a can, made from actual peaches). It’s very sweet and juicy smelling, and lacks any hint of artificial peach gummy.

The brewed aroma is faint, but what is there smells of fresh grass and peaches. The peach flavor builds on your tongue with each sip, making each peachier than the last. The jasmine is initially very subtle, sneaking in at the tail of the sip, but as the peach builds, so does the jasmine and it becomes the most lingering of the flavors. Strangely the amount of jasmine I taste doesn’t really change with how many times I steeped it. It was always subtle, and just there. The green tea isn’t the prominent flavor until several steepings in, and then it is a nice buttery, vegetal green.

Coming back to the peach flavor, though, I can honestly say this is the first peach tea that has genuinely tasted like peach. Even when the flavor is strongest (steeps 2-3) it never crosses into fake or candylike. I’m blown away at how perfect this flavor is.

I’m pretty sure I’ve given up on other peach teas now.

Stephanie

Oh yum! This one is on my must try list! :D

I really enjoyed my samples of this one!
Very delicate, very refined, very lovely.

Thank you Angel at Teavivre for the samples!
I was excited to try this one because I love jasmine pearls.

I steeped 1 tsp of this tea. The peach aroma comes through right away when steeping this tea. I didn’t get much of the jasmine taste and it doesn’t seem quite as sweet as the other jasmine pearls. The peach does taste fresh though.
Resteeped for 2 minutes.
I think I would maybe start off with steeping this for 2 minutes right off the bat to bring out more of the jasmine flavour.

I put half of each steep into the fridge to chill. Cold, this tea is very refreshing. The peach tastes pretty natural. I am still not getting as much jasmine as I was expecting to get, just a little hint.
I think I actually prefer this cold.

Hmmm, I haven’t tried this one cold. I still have some left, I’ll have to give that a try :)

TeaVivre

Indeed, this tea doesn’t have strong jasmine flavor. Like you said, the peach flavor tastes pretty natural.

Sipdown…

I, uh, decided to dump the whole packet in my timolino and cold steep all afternoon, but when I was ready to drink it, it was not steeped enough and was too weak. I knew I shoulda used a bit of hot water at the bottom first.

Oh well, this one is gone, but not forgotten. I do still like it, but I like the strawberry oolong best.
