I cannot recall how I received two bags of this tea but I imagine it was through one swap or another. This will be my last cup before retreating for the night to carry on reading Mad Mouse by Chris Grabenstein.

It smells sweet with strong licorice and cinnamon essences.

Flavour wise this is thickly licorice and it leaves that refreshing feeling in my mouth as I sip. The anise is also rather strong mixed with the cinnamon and in the after taste the Rooibos is noticeable. It’s an unusual blend and I don’t think I’m going to be able to finish this cup. My husband is also not a fan.

Hmm… I don’t like this tea. I love rooibos but it seems that adding liquorice, cardamom and anise to it is a big mistake. The tea is nutty, spicy, and sweet – a really weird combination in my opinion. Not my cup of tea!

It’s not…. unpleasant. It definitely isn’t. That being said, it’s partly because the tea is so weak I can’t taste anything. I like the liquorice aftertaste, but other than that, it tastes like water. I think I’d enjoy it if I could taste it though.
