Upon opening the tin, my first impression is that it’s bagged tea… unbagged. The leaves are very tiny and uniformly cut. The smell is pale, but if I stick my nose into the tin I get notes of a standard English Breakfast.
Trying it plain before I add anything to it, I find that it’s very strong. It’s malty and a bit astringent. Adding milk smooths it out. It’s decent. It’s nothing special, but it’s a good English Breakfast.
trying to get back into writing tasting notes- tried this one today- smells mostly of cocoa which was interesting. I liked it though- it was actually smooth, not bitter at all for me. malty and chocolatey. I’d like a little bit of brightness though. not a bad sip.
I agree with Michelle on this one. This tea is like bagged tea, unbagged. It is nothing special but not terrible as well. There are many other teas that have superior English Breakfast blends. It definitely needed milk and sugar.
Not great – rather bitter and kind of dusty.
