I tried this both hot and cold brewed—hot I think the mint kind of overwhelmed everything else, it just tasted like a regular peppermint to me. Cold, though, the other flavors come out beautifully. The rose, mint and white tea all meld together and work so well in combination. I love mint/rose together, and this definitely doesn’t disappoint! They don’t overwhelm each other OR the base, which I was surprised by. White teas are so light and delicate, I didn’t know how a strong flavor like peppermint would work. But the blending is very nice, just the right amount of everything.

There’s also a hint of something else… maybe fruit of some sort? Like a soft whiff of strawberry. It’s very nice! Being a lover of both rose and peppermint I am totally loving this blend.

More of what I am calling Sample Saturdays here .. Every Saturday I am going to dedicate most all of my tea drinking time to samples sent to me by companies but mostly friends in swaps.
Thank you to Tommy Toadman for this sample!
It is definitely minty and I do love minty! Very nice tea base, and is that a slight sweetness I get there? Perhaps. If so it is done just perfectly.
The rose is very lovely and melds wonderfully with the mint – as TeaEqualsBliss says – about 50/50.
Only getting a very very slight “fruity” flavor and not sure what fruit I am supposed to be tasting here but maybe that is the slight sweet flavor I am picking up.
A nice tea – something I would enjoy every great now and then. Tommy was very generous with the sample so I don’t think I would want to reorder anytime soon but will have an iced version soon!
Thanks Tommy

I am going to up the rating on this one just a tad. The big issue I have with this tea is I PERSONALLY do not care for mint as much as I used to HOWEVER on the flip side I am beginning to appreciate FLORAL teas more.
So I have flip flopped. Regardless, this is a well blended tea and what I know now that I didn’t know so much back when I first rated it is that ratings should reflect more than just personal preference.
This IS a good tea, well balanced, well blended, good flavors, very natural tasting. I do not taste anything artificial about it.
I will do a full review on SororiTea Sisters later today. I am in a chill moment right now enjoying this rather relaxing, quite soothing cup, thinking nap time sounds good. I think this would make a really lovely bedtime tea!

Here are my snippits:

Amore’ from The Persimmon Tree is a beautiful tea to look at and I find it to be so soothing, relaxing, and just calming. I always have a cup of tea beside me on the table when I fall asleep at night, even if I don’t finish it, I just like to know a cup is there. This tea will be a perfect bedside companion!

Delicate big white tea leaves that look all fluffy like clouds or a big squishy pillow, pretty roses, the soothing, breathe easy aroma of mint, what more could one ask for at night?

Everything about this tea tastes natural.

I think I like this even more than a chamomile tea for bedtime!

So I went back on my blog to see when my review for Amore showed up – um – it didn’t. Gaaah. My blog is driving me nuts, doesn’t post when I tell it to, no facebook apps work anymore… and with that in mind I’m sipping this tea right now, re-writing the post – and the stress melts away. Hey, the name of this tea changed too so it’s due for a re-write!

Rose mojito is so fitting, off to ice it for pics!

EDIT: Oh maaaan I iced it with fresh mint and lime and sparkling water! Amaaaazing – and finally made sure that post was up and about: http://www.daisychubb.com/review-rose-mojito-by-the-persimmon-tree/

KeenTeaThyme

No rating as I’m not too keen on white teas, so I don’t have a basis to judge this one.

This is a light, playful blend of peppermint and botanicals. It’s soothing and spa-like. I bet it would be delicious iced! I was able to get two infusions from one round, always appreciate leaves that last longer than one infusion.

The peppermint plays off the floral taste nicely. I’m not normally a fan of roses (not in my tea nor otherwise) but I don’t mind the light floral taste when it’s paired with refreshing peppermint.

9th tea out of my samples from Persimmon Tree. I’m hoping to finish trying them all today, then I can make another order with some bigger tins and a few other samples I missed.

So this morning I’m very tired, tired enough that I almost dumped protein powder in my tea cup instead of into my oatmeal. That would of been gross with this tea! I tried once with a black tea, it gets all pancake battery.

DRY: crisp minty smell. Pretty spattering of rose petals in this tea.

STEEPED: Mint and rose smell – wonderfully balanced. Steeps up a nice light yellow. 2t of dry tea used.

TASTE: delicate and crisp mint comes out first, with the tea blooming in floral. Also a mysterious light sweetness and a couple sips I had a fruity taste that I can’t identify. White tea comes out as well. Very well balanced mint and floral flavor.

WHO’D LOVE THIS TEA: Mint tea drinkers wanting a hit of energy in the morning. Floral tea drinkers.

COMMENTS: I like the mystery sweetness and the floral in this tea. The mint is balanced in so well – as from what I got from other Persimmon Tree teas, they know how to blend a tea.

Overall, very good however not in my range of tastes.

Dry Aroma: Mostly Minty but also a stronger Rose Aroma as a secondary
Post Infusion Aroma: Mostly Rose but a nice refreshing Mint Scent, too.

Color: Light Brown with a little gray.

Taste: Very Nice!

The Rose and Mint are about 50/50 equal in flavor…this in itself amazes me! The white tea is noticeable as well. A great uplifting and refreshing aftertaste! I really like this!

More rose than mint today but calming and warming – delight! See previous notes :)

This tea was definitely minty! I saw plenty of rose petals in the sample, but I really couldn’t detect any rose flavor at all, which was a bit disappointing. Rose Mojito sounded like it would be a really intriguing blend, but it failed to wow me. It’s a decent minty tea, but nothing more. After reading through the reviews, I wish I would have made this as an iced tea. But alas, I only had enough for one mug.

Thanks to Lariel for including a sample of this in our swap.

It was a nice mellow mint tea, but nothing remarkable. If you are looking for a delicate floral tea without overpowering mint you’ll enjoy this.

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tea to try.

This is very nice. A lovely level of mint flavor – not overwhelming. Mild and crisp. The rose is so very delicate. Beautiful.

I bought this one specifically to be cold brewed or made hot, then iced.

Really good decision!

This is a really light tea, strongly tasting of peppermint with a generic floral flavor as a background note. I don’t specifically note it as rose (of which there were lots in my sample!), but it’s definitely a flower. There’s also kind of a light citrusy note I’m picking up. It’s not super pronounced on every sip, but I’m definitely getting it. With summer coming up this is definitely ending up in the re-buy list! :)

This is not the tea for me. It has a cinnamon spiciness that mixed with the mint and it is just kind of the opposite of my taste palate. I know other’s are loving it, so I will refrain from rating.
