From The Republic of Tea

Apple pie is proof that apples and vanilla make an enticing duo. We’ve blended apples with the tangy berry and bright citrus qualities of exotic hibiscus along with lively rosehips to create this aromatic, uplifting herbal tea.

Steeping Instructions
Steeping herbal tea is easy. Simply heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Then pour water over tea and steep for 5-7 minutes if using a tea bag or full-leaf. For iced tea, double the amount of tea used. Cool and serve over ice.

Ingredients: Hibiscus (flower), rosehips (fruit), apple bits (fruit), stevia (leaf). Other Ingredients: Natural vanilla and apple flavors

I got a sample of this from JustJames quite some time ago. I am really surprised at how much I like their tea’s despite being pre-bagged.

This I drank as a hot brew and added some rock sugar, and was surprised at how delicious this is!

The brewed colour was purple, which was also a surprise, considering the name of the tea.

The flavour was sweet, tangy apple with a hint of vanilla. I wish I had more of this! Thank you JustJames for this sample!!

Aimee Popovacki

that sounds awesome!

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Water: 6 ounces filtered boiling
Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: hibiscus, apple, floral
Steeped Tea Smell: sweet apple vanilla
Flavor: hibiscus, apple
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: sweet apple, hints of vanilla
Liquor: dark pink

I drank the first cup so fast I couldn’t even log it! The second cup (fresh bag) I drank while starting the post. I am now on cup #3.

I had a wonderful (though tea-less) weekend with my friends, and came home to some drama that had me shaking with fury. I wanted a nice soothing cup of tea to calm down. I choose this for the vanilla. Sadly it is a mild hint of vanilla instead of a prominent flavor. It is however a lovely tea. Not as delicious as the pineapple lychee.

Bobbie and MilitiaJim both are displeased with the tea and find it to have a “fake sugar” after taste.

Note: I love hibiscus

My name is Jennifer, and I’m a tea miser. I’m naturally a pretty generous person but I do have my standards. If you’re a tea enthusiast, I’ll share my last tsp. of my most beloved tea with you. But if you really don’t get excited about tea, you’re not getting any of my top shelf brew. Have you ever offered someone a cup of your precious tea only to see then leave half a cup? It’s horrifying! So, when I brew a big pitcher of iced tea that just anyone may be offered, I refuse to use my most coveted teas. Vanilla Apple Hibiscus tea from The Republic of Tea is a delicious tea that I am willing to share.

I’ve had this Vanila Apple Hibiscus tea for just over a year now. It’s a good iced tea. There’s a distinct apple flavor at first sip. The hibiscus gives the brew a vaguely sweet and very pleasant background. The smooth vanilla finish is a lovely surprise. It’s a very refreshing summertime tea that I won’t find myself angry at unsuspecting guests for not finishing :)

Didn’t realize this had stevia in it when I added my sugar so this is way oversweetened. I’ll rate it properly once I’ve had a cup I can stand.

Tastes too much like hibiscus and sweetener. I like their apple teas, but this doesn’t have enough apple flavour. Might be better iced.

I really like Republics Hibiscus Pineapple blend as there is a good blend of ingredients. Unfortunately this one does not make the cut. All I get from this tea is the hibiscus – tart and overpowering.

This is a nice caffeine free tea, the balance between the vanilla and apple was just right. A nice after dinner tea.

Both less fruity and flowery than I expected- and the vanilla is definitely in the background. I do taste the hibiscus, perhaps more than anything else. Behind that there is a definite hint of fruitiness- that’d be the apple. I expected to hate this tea, but it’s milder than I was expecting and less sweet. I wouldn’t quite say it’s tart, but almost so. (The aftertaste is a bit tart- not unlike an apple can be.) Not one I’ll actually buy for myself, but it was interesting to try a bag.

This tastes exactly like a green apple Jolly Rancher. So, if that’s a flavor you enjoy, you will enjoy this.
