This is the tea that got me into tea. I tried this on a whim at a Barnes and Noble cafe several years ago, and I’ve loved it ever since. It is naturally somewhat sweet, has a fresh but not overpowering minty flavor, and soft, harmonious undertones of its other ingredients, notably eleuthero and licorice. This is my staple tea—the one I have taken to carrying a miniature tin of wherever I go. I gave some to a friend at work and she said it was the best tea she’d ever tasted. It’s great!

Other reviewers have compared Republic of Tea Ginseng Peppermint to Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer, and there is definitely a lot of overlap, given the eleuthero, the peppermint, and the licorice root, which imparts a decided sweetness to the cloudy golden liquor.

As with Tension Tamer, the dominant flavor seems to me to be licorice. I also can taste the ginseng, which is also somewhat sweet. The mintiness of the peppermint is rather light, probably because the licorice and the ginseng are so strong. Or is that eleuthero? I’m still not sure what eleuthero tastes like.

This blend is making me very drowsy. Perhaps I should go bathe before falling asleep!

Probably my favorite herbal tea at this point! Nice light flavor and naturally sweet- perfect with just a little bit of raw sugar. No need to worry about oversteeping it, because the flavor is light enough to take a little extra time in the water.

i love putting this herbal tea in my yerba mate. really adds a sweetness to the mate, and doesn’t inhibit the qualities of mate. Plus, good for colds too.

Nice and light and not too much mint flavor. Has a slight sweetness to it, so I usually don’t add additional sweeteners.

I agree, very similar to Tension Tamer but definitely higher quality tastewise

I like it! More smooth and sweet than just peppermint. The eleuthero gives it a similar flavor to Celestial Seasonings’ Tension Tamer.
