Silver Rain

White Tea by The Republic of Tea

Above the Cloud Tea – Classified as rarest of all teas, this high grown white China tea is plucked in spring right before the leaf opens. White, downy buds are quickly air-dried, resulting in a low-caffeine tea.

I realize white tea is mild by default, but I don’t think there’s much difference between this and hot tap water.

This like the song “The Cat Came Back” … “the tea just wouldn’t go away…” I’m bound and determined to finish the canister, and every time I think I’m on the last spoonful, there’s more. I doubled up on quantity and got the water to turn a rather designer-beige color; maybe a little almond scent to it, but taste? Nope! I think I may see if co-worker wants to fertilize her African violet with the rest.

Addendum: even after a much longer (lost track of time) steep, I’m still tasting tap water. Oh, well…I’m down to the dregs and that’ll be that.

I tried adjusting quantity, steep time, temperature and guess that I am not a “white tea” person, the best I got was a flat, empty wet grass taste. It may have been this tea but I think I am more of an Oolong, Pu erh, Darjeeling person. Good luck with it
