From The Republic of Tea

More flavorful than ever, Passionfruit Mango Red Tea is rich in antioxidants and naturally caffeine free. South African Rooibos is blended with natural mango, passionfruit, and lemon flavors. The flavors Citizens have come to love in Capetown Harvest.

The resulting cup is bright, crisp, and full of fruity goodness. This tea is excellent as an iced tea.

I got this is the loose leaf form at my local Whole foods where they have a bunch of teas in bulk. I haven’t been drinking a lot of rooibos lately but I thought I would give this one a shot.

It isn’t terribly fruity, I was hoping for something a bit more. The predominate note is rooibos but there is a hint of the mango passionfruit flavor here. I wonder if this would be good iced? I deided to drink it hot with soymilk and I think the creaminess of the soymilk is making it more dessert-like. Not too bad for a rooibos blend but I don’t know if I would seek this out again.

This is not a terribly fruity tea – I expected a little more. I think the rooibos overpowers the fruit a little. I’m going to have a second cup to see if my perceptions change.

This one is from my wonderful exchange with AliceG. It was so hard to decide what to try first! I’ve quite enjoyed RoT’s rooibos in the past, but fruity red rooibos blends often are a bit strange, so I didn’t know how to feel leading up to this one. The first sip tasted weird, so I added some extra sugar, and that seemed to fix it. The flavor is primarily rooibos with only hints of a fruity flavor. I burned my tongue on my food, so I’m afraid I can’t provide much more detail other than that it tastes like rooibos with a bit of tangy flavoring. This one is all right, but I’d choose their Good Hope Vanilla rooibos over this one.

I had this hot on campus today.
It was pretty good… but for some reason I thought the mango was a little too strong…
