This, for me, is a summertime tea. It’s excellent chilled, whether sweetened or not. I can’t really taste the sage. I always let RoT steep for a longer time than recommended, as I personally feel their teabags could use a bit more tea than they actually put in. It’s late August now, and I’ll be finishing my tin soon, as I’m not too keen on this one during the cold months.

Surprised to see the low ratings for this tea. I sampled it yesterday at World Market and thought it was delicious. And that’s coming from someone who’s not exactly a fan of bagged black tea, sage, or berry flavoring. But the combination is really well executed in this tea.

The tea begins with a very natural blackberry flavor balanced with a mellow black tea base. The sage isn’t as easy to detect because its not up front and center. Instead it makes an appearance towards the end of the sip to impart a subtle herbal note that contrasts nicely with the fruitiness.

Bet this would make an awesome cold brew/iced tea.

I like this tea for work. It’s sweet enough without added sugar, and it tastes equally good piping hot and room temperature (when I make tea and forget to take it to my morning meeting). It doesn’t have an overbearing blackberry flavor, but I definitely notice that it’s there. The sage flavor doesn’t really come out at all for me, but I don’t mind because the blackberry is plenty satisfying. I will have to remember to notice the sage next time I drink it.

Soooo delicious. I was blown away at how much flavour was left in this tea given it’s age and it was just perfect to hit the spot this evening.

I never would have thought to combine blackberry and sage! Is it savory?

Evol Ving Ness

I think Liquid Proust combined these two flavours at one point too.

Starfevre

It’s more sweet, but then, I tend to add sweetener. The sage just adds a bit of something that makes the whole thing come together. So much better than just straight blackberry somehow.

This past week’s Tea of the Week is also a Blackberry Sage tea – Yunnan grown Teas (A golden Yunnan & an Assamica grown in Yunnan Province) with blackberries and white sage. It’s really good. I don’t have it yet available for sale because I need more pouches . . . but it will be on the website later this coming week.

ooooooh, I shouldn’t be buying tea but I might not be able to resist that.

Hot, this is a decidedly average tea. Smells like blackberry, tastes like generic black tea. However, I made some iced and it is great! Some of the best iced tea I’ve had. Somehow that preparation brings out the flavors much better and it’s a very refreshing drink. I thought I wanted to just get rid of this tea, but now I may have to buy it again!

Blackberry & Sage are two of my fav ingredients I was horribly disappointed by this :/ if my grandma drank this tea every day, having to smell it would be my least favorite part about visiting

So-so tea. I really like blackberry and this was the only brand I could find locally. Disappointed with the lack of flavor.

I bought this as an inexpensive way to have tea at school. I also love blackberries, and particularly love them combined with herbals. I wish I had a candle of this. I had a blackberry basil one once upon a time and it was amazing. I am surprised at how fragrant this is. While it might not be the best in the world, it is very tasty, and I will likely repurchase.

Firstly, I must mention that I have the loose leaf version of this tea, not the bag.

The smell of the dry leaf and liquid smells extremely strongly of blackberry. There’s something sort of dry-smelling at the end of the scent that suggests artificiality. I couldn’t detect any sage in the scent.

Starting with the base, there’s some astringency and bitterness, but they take a back seat to the flavoring. As with the scent, I can detect no sage in the flavor. The blackberry flavor is strong. It’s a tiny bit artificial, but it’s still a nice flavor.

Since Stephen likes this tea, we’ll be keeping it around.

Love to stick this in my water bottle and let it steep slowly through out the day. I prefer it room temperature. It is the only tea I really enjoy without sweetener. It has a bright coppery aftertaste that I think is very refreshing.
