From The Tea Spot

This refreshing blend consists of peppermint and Hojicha, a roasted Japanese green tea. Hojicha is naturally lower in caffeine than other green teas, while peppermint aids with muscle relaxation and digestion. Together they create a warming, tawny taste that is relaxing when hot and amazingly refreshing when iced. This brews into a clean, amber liquor with an inviting smell. The roasted green tea creates a nutty base that is brightened by the vibrant peppermint leaves.

I bought a sample of this, and must have thought there was chocolate too. Thin Mint would clearly be chocolate + peppermint.

But it is only peppermint. Disappoint.

I’m not sure how I feel about hojicha and peppermint. It’s not terrible but it’s not my favorite combination of flavors.

I’m glad I only got a sample of this. I just wish it had chocolate!

You could add a few chocolate chips to it:)

Got a sample of this with my recent Tea Spot order and I felt in the mood to have some now. I’ve had this one in the past and my mother still has a large tin of it. I don’t know why I didn’t buy any more for myself this time around. Kind of wishing I did now.

I like this blend of peppermint and hojicha so much better than the usual moroccan gunpowder mint blends. The hojicha keeps the peppermint tame without taking over in the way that gunpowder green does.

Taken Plain.
Mint and toasty goodness. That’s pretty much all you can say about this one. It is somehow both refreshing and smoothly savory at the same time and none of the flavors fight with one another.
Which is pretty neat.
Definitely worth a shot.

I really like Tea Spot teas because they are simple and unpretentious but of a good quality. Their large tins provide a great value for a decent quality tea.

The Green Roasted Mint is a bit unusual. In fragrance, you have the obvious mint (which is very clean with no artificial qualities) but there’s a note I liken to aged paper which is probably from the roasting. Once brewed, the fragrance is a faintly smokey.

In flavor, the mint and the tea are well balanced. This is one tea that I will occasionally sweeten to bring out more of the mint.

I’ve made this iced as well and it’s pretty decent.

When they call this Thin Mint I think of Girl Scout cookies..but this is not it…nor do I think that’s their goal. I taste a vegetal green tea and a side of peppermint. It tastes like a basic kind of tea to me…nothing amazingly special. But that’s why I’m trying every kind of green mint tea out there…so I can find what I like:) Thank you Shelly for this sample!

I also thought there would be chocolate taste… silly me! It’s not a bad tea but not what I expected. It’s ok but not much different from your typical mint tea. I tried adding a few chocolate chips. I won’t be buying it again but I don’t hate it.

I love mint and smelling the dry leaves bring back pleasant memories of the mint fields of Oregon. I prepared this tea this evening for two. My daughter is sick with a sore throat bug, so I thought it would be a feel good tea for her. I plan on keeping this tea in my cupboard.
