From Touch Organic

Ingredient: Organic matcha green tea, produced in China.

Green tea matcha is integral to tea ceremony and tradition in Japan. Matca is made by crushing the premium organic green tea leaves into refined green tea powder.

Contrary to steeping green tea leaf infusions, this deep emerald green powder is whisked into hot water for a satisfying cup of tea that absorbs 100% of the tea leaf

I made cookies WOO!!!!
http://www.justonecookbook.com/recipes/green-tea-white-chocolate-cookies/

Only sad thing? They are SO FREAKING SWEET, what with the icing sugar and the white chocolate. :/ Delicious, but way too sweet for me. Even with the bitter of the matcha coming through.

Oh well, I’m sure they’ll get eaten anyways!

TheTeaFairy

Oh they look so pretty! I hate when recipes call for so much sugar tho…

OMGsrsly

Part of it would be my fault. I see 1/3-1/2 cup white chocolate, and dump in more than the 1/2 cup recommended… :D I should know to cut the sugar in almost any recipe in half, though. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid!

Lala

I am glad they turned out well! I love the recipes on that site. I will have to try these cookies.

OMGsrsly

They’re better this morning, but that might just be the lack of energy talking. :D Trying to gear up for a hike!

I have the powder version of this that comes in the little tubes that you rip open and sprinkle into your mug.
Talk about green! Wow! What a vibrant colour when you add the water! A full-bodied tea with lots of grassy, vegetal flavour. I do not find it bitter at all.
Perfect for a hectic morning!

Tried it again, but with a different ratio of water to tea. I must’ve gotten it wrong last time because it was much less bitter and grainy this time around.

For matcha teas I find this one leans toward the more savoury flavour, a little astringent. It can be used in a lot of different ways I find. I usually drink it made in the traditional style of the Japanese tea ceremony, or as a tea latte. Sometimes I add a little flavouring. I have also tried it once or twice in a smoothie and that was quite good. It’s a nice grassy matcha that tastes very bright and fresh.
