From Twinings

Camomile herb teas has long been a European favorite, with its light clean flavor and soothing effect. One of the most widely used herbs in the world today, camomile was first discovered by the Egyptians who dedicated it to their gods for its many useful properties. The Greeks also used camomile extensively, naming it “ground apple” for the apple-like aroma of the herb. Enjoy the soothing and calming benefits of Twinings Camomile Herbal Tea.

Ingredients
Camomile

I am sorry about this – I have made this confusing. I couldn’t believe this was not on here, and then AFTER I submitted the tea entry, I realized why it was not in here…“Chamomile” is spelled differently (from everywhere else I have ever seen it) as “Camomile” There is already an entry.

I do not know how to delete this Tea Entry…Sorry again.

See my actual tasting note under the correctly entered tea – Pure Camomile.

Cinoi- PM Jason and ask him to merge the tasting notes for the tea spelled incorrectly w/ this one. He can fix it:)

It got to quarter to nine tonight and I just really wanted chamomile tea, so I picked up a box of this from the Co-Op. Usually I would have wanted whole chamomile flowers (they look so pretty brewing in a glass pot!) and not teabags, but I ran out last week :(

As far as chamomile goes, you can’t really get it wrong. This definitely wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was good enough for me. It produces a really beautiful golden liquor and smells absolutely wonderful. The only fault I could find was that the taste is rather flat – maybe I’ve just been spoiled by some really fantastic chamomiles in the past, but this tea doesn’t have the same complexity of flavour that I’m used to.

I was forced to use this when I ran out of Loose leaf Chamomile from Davids and Teaopia. It was a sad… sad day…

However I would not let my relaxing night time routine stop because I used all my loose leaf, I looked in the cupboard, and there was Twinings.

I do not know much about Twinings, this was the first time I have had one of their teas.

My expectations weren’t too high, so I boiled the water as usual and let steep for 5minutes. I was surprised to taste a modest earthiness to it, which brought back memories of Davids chamomile, it was not as exciting as Davids, but it was a good chamomile tea.

Smooth and Relaxing – Those are my guidelines for Chamomile teas (and Herbal sometimes). Since it was both, I found one folly. It was rather weak, and I much preferred other chamomiles.

But go for it, it is a great tea none the less.

Aaaaa chamomile, what would I do without you? So far, I have found that this is the most effective blend of chamomile for me to deal with overwhelming feelings of anxiety and depression. It also tastes really sweet, so that’s a pickmeup in itself! My favourite blend of chamomile. The packaging is also gorgeous!

If there’s one advantage to having a cold, it’s forcing me to be a bit more creative with my tea. This isn’t a particularly exciting tea at the best of times, being straightforward chamomile and mostly dust at that. No whole flowers here! In an effort to try and help myself sleep and soothe my throat at the same time, I added the juice of 1/4 lemon and 1 tsp of honey to a cup I’d steeped for 3 minutes. It’s actually delicious, and breathed fresh life into a normally boring supermarket staple. I sometimes find chamomile too sweet, and I worried that the honey would push it over the edge, but the fresh lemon juice brings it back from the brink and adds some much-needed balance.

I still didn’t sleep very well, on account of not being able to breathe, but my throat felt soothed for a while at least.

A tasty and basic chamomile, nothing stands out about it, but it did taste fresh and flavourful.

chamomile tastes like freaky flowers to me :(

I really enjoy chamomile. So far I actually prefer the bagged chamomile I’ve had to the loose varieties. It tastes more floral and less grassy to me.

I just got sick (I really thought I was done with that part of pregnancy), and needed something to clear out the bad taste that wouldn’t upset my stomach. I had a bag of this on my tea wreath, so I decided to use it. I find Chamomile incredibly soothing, and I’m not too picky about it (although most of what I’ve had is bagged), so this was exactly what I was looking for. Mild, floral taste somewhat reminiscent of sweet apples.

Pure Chamomile is really nothing special. I was expecting it to be yellow when I brewed it (I steeped one bag in 12 oz of water) and it turened out really dark and strong! I kind of gagged when I sipped it….sorry Twinings. Maybe it’s just me, maybe it’s because I’m not a fan of chamomile… or maybe not. It really is exactly that, pure chamomile, as strong as can be. All in all, I will not be preparing this tea anytime soon, the taste is too overwhelming.
