From Twinings

This light golden black tea from the foothills of the Himalayas has a delicate and unique character that is likened to the Muscatel grape.

Darjeeling teas are grown in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains in northeast India. The high altitude, soil and climate of the Darjeeling plantations contribute towards the unique and delicate taste of this tea. Twinings Darjeeling uses the finest first and second flush teas (those picked in the spring and summer) in this blend. Darjeeling is often regarded by connoisseurs as one of the finest teas. Darjeeling is best drunk black or with a touch of milk.

Light in color, light in flavor. Astonishingly good for something you can buy at the supermarket. Darjeeling tea is almost never strong, but sometimes a rousting and nearly spicy flavor emerges from the small, lightly cured second-flush leaves. This is not one of those Darjeelings. But it is very good. It has a complex, delicate, floral flavor, is free from bitterness, and should accompany those contemplative moments that you claim for yourself over the course of the day.

I recommend drinking this tea plain after brewing it in a pre-heated mug with very hot water for a very short time (~2 minutes).

However prepared, it will disappoint those who prefer strong tea.

Each teabag is individually wrapped in a material that is not quite plastic and not quite paper. This arrangement succeeds in keeping the tea fresh for a year or two.

I’d never tried Darjeeling tea before, but I’ve wanted to for a while, so when I saw this on the shelf at the grocery, I had to pick it up. I figured that I could count on Twinings for my first Darjeeling experience, as this company has never let me down before. I found it a little bitter with just sweetener, but I really enjoyed it once I’d added a bit of milk. I’m so glad I picked this one up!

I am a Twinings enthusiast. Whether it is their Lady Grey or their Lapsang Souchong I am almost always pleasantly surprised. That has not been the case with their Darjeeling. I don’t find it repulsive. I just don’t find it anything. I don’t have a problem with mild teas, I would just like a bit more of the muscatel flavor you may find in more pungent varieties. I don’t mind the bitter tannic quality of this tea… I just found it devoid of character.

This was one of the very first teas that I started with a few years back and have been drinking it since. Because I’ve switched over to organic and non gmo teas, I can’t really say this tea is amazing because others taste much better, but it is still good, especially with a little milk. This Is my first review on here and just testing it out. Sorry for it being so short.

sample from raritea Most of the time darjeelings are just not my thing. They’re too fussy and the tastes is never anything i’m craving. this is a pretty decent tea. Not much else to say on the subject besides it was a decent cup of tea this morning :)

The liquor of this tea is gorgeous- amber colored.

Sipping…. It’s very light and fragrant, and I noticed that it needed a longer steep time than most black teas. I like it! It’s very delicate.

A rather uninspiring cup of tea. Pleasant enough, but not great.
