Jasmine (loose leaf)

Green Tea by Twinings

Pure and natural refreshing green tea lightly scented with jasmine flowers for a delicate fragrance.

Green tea is known for its smooth flavor and refreshing taste. Green teas are made from leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, the same leaves as black tea. Green teas go through a process where the leaves are heated to prevent oxidation while black teas are oxidized for additional color and flavor. Twinings’ Jasmine Green Tea is layered with freshly picked jasmine flowers, allowing the tea leaves to absorb the delicate fragrance. The result is a mild and refreshing tea with an alluring aroma.

I love this brand of tea since its a quality tea and not expensive for their taste. Its easy to buy them and has a “daily cup” flavor. For daily kinds of tea (not special cups, just drinking the pure tea) this flavor from twinings its very soft if well prepared cause it mix the sweet floral aroma and taste with the bitter of green teas. But its a very delicate tea cause if its left for few time more than it should…it will end tasting horribly bitter.

I bought this tea a few weeks ago when it was on sale because my local grocerystore is selling out tea’s to make shelve space. Had alot of bagged twinnings over the years but never loose leafe from them. Because i usualy drink high quality jasmine pearls i was curious about the taste off this one.

Upon opening the package the loose leaves look pretty good, they don’t smell alot tough u can smell the jasmine. Brewed them for about 2m30sec with 80c water like i do most off my greens.

When the tea cooled down a bit i started tasting and i was a bit dissapointed in my opinion it can’t come close to jasmine pearls but for being a supermarket tea and the very cheap price it was sold to me i cannot complain!

I would probably not buy it again tough, because i’m more into high grade organic’s but for a quick jasmine cup its pretty good, but then again if i want a quick tea when i have not enough time to brew loose leave i buy bagged tea :)

I’m happy i tryed this one out so i know the difference between supermarket loose and organic loose leave tea’s! :)

edit: i forgot to mention i realy like the style off tin where its put in, gonna reuse that one later on!

I really liked this tea. Some of my family members celebrated a baby shower, and gave me this when they came back from it. They gave me several teas from Twinings. I was very gracious, as I always appreciate free teas. When I opened the can, it smelled very floral. The scent was light, delicate, and yet the tea smelled strangely robust for a green tea. The previous morning, I had gone to the farmers market, and gotten some fresh vegetables and fruit, which I decided to prepare for dinner. I made the tea just in time to eat. It tasted wonderful (both dinner and the tea). I could taste the Jasmine, and something else. I can’t quite place what the other element was, though. The tea was a bit strong for a green tea, but the Jasmine made it work. I think this tea might be one that I order for myself.

A nice, basic jasmine tea. The floral notes balance the bitterness of the green tea, but it’s not the most exciting drink. I’ve had better jasmine teas from specialty stores, but if you want something quick and cheap from the grocery store, this makes a decent brew.

This tea smells absolutely glorious, and the taste isn’t so bad either. Drink with milk, because I can.

I really wasn’t expecting it to be this good! My daughter loves jasmine and this was a gift from a tea party we threw last week. The florals weren’t overpowering and the green tea wasn’t too bitter. Added a hint of stevia. Very nice!
