From Twinings

“A refreshing, light black tea with the distinctive citrus fruit flavor of bergamot to deliver an uplifting tea with vibrant aroma and zesty flavors of orange and lemon. Lady Grey Tea is a unique blend from Twinings…[with a] gentle citrus flavor that is both relaxing and refreshing. It is perfect in the morning with breakfast or for afternoon tea. Enjoy it with a little milk, or with sweetener, or to your liking.”

I tried this once in a selection pack that someone left at work and while it was nice enough it didn’t grab me. A few months ago I went for afternoon tea at a hotel in the lakes and randomly chose this tea, and it was lovely and refreshing with the sandwiches and cakes. I don’t generally like fruit teas so this is as close as I get, and it’s really quite orangey, and very light. I have it with milk and sugar and leave the bag in until I get round to drinking it. Easier drinking than Earl Grey but with many of the same undertones.

For a black bagged tea, this is not bad. I like the lighter flavor, which allows me to drink it without milk and sugar. It is refreshing and smooth even after a long steep. Unfortunately, black English style teas just aren’t my thing.

Never having Lady Grey before, when i saw this at Safeway this morning shopping i couldn’t resist pulling it off the shelf with a big grin on my face! Loads of people have been telling me to try this tea so why not let today be the day!

It smells great! Not as string as an Early Grey would, but it is a plesant light aroma. The flavor reflects the aroma very well. The citrus notes in this tea are very nice and subtle and not overpowering as could be the case with some Earl Greys. This is a nice breakfast tea to have with some toast and jam, yum!

Got this tea for a teacher appreciation gift this week. The smell in the tea bag is citrus. Brewed it for 2 minutes. I can taste the bergamont, but it is not overpowering. Light, basic black tea that did not require milk and sugar. I am pleasantly surprised:)

Backlogging. Drank this last night while I was on call. With this new schedule 4am-6/7pm, I hope I won’t switch to coffee.

Ah, this is so much lighter than any other Grey tea I’ve had. A nice change after the filling Masala Chai I had earlier. It smells nice, both in the tin and in the pot, I could see this being an everyday sort of tea. The one thing that I’m noticing that seems strange is this sort of delayed aftertaste that reminds me of something like an apricot or mango flavored candy. It might just be a result of having had the Masala first, but it’s pretty strange.

This is one of my all time favorite grocery store teas. Its lighter than regular Earl Grey, just perfect for an afternoon quiet cuppa. The citrus is not overpowering but pleasant to the nose and pallet. So far Ive just tried the teabags since I cant find it loose except on amazon which I cant purchase from. Hopefully I can find another avenue to purchase the tins.

Pretty much the only bagged tea I drink anymore are the British ‘builders’ teas and Twinings. I always have a box of the decaf Lady or Earl Grey in my cupboard, and generally have a large mug right before bed. It’s my go-to relaxing tea. Very delicious and soothing.
