From two leaves and a bud

Traditional Jasmine tea is green tea dried with petals of jasmine flower. As the tea dries, it absorbs the flavor of the jasmine. We leave the jasmine petals in ours for a great taste and visual experience. Jasmine tea is the most consumed tea in China. The finest is grown in the Fujian Province, where the teas exhibit a depth and complexity not found in lesser tea

Am drinking this right now. I survived my major dental work but oweeee my mouth and tongue certainly are hurting.

I love jasmine teas. This one the flavor is very subtle and soft. This is a staple tea in my cupboard and I cant believe I never logged it prior. I never think to log this one as it is simply always an option and always present. Nothing earth shattering but a good cup of tea to have by your side.

Dental work. =( Glad you’re through it, now, and on the mend. So much better to see it in the rear-view mirror. =)

This is a great tea! I love these, especially when I don’t have my brewing hardware with me.

I have had it in both loose leaf and the tea sachet. This was the loose leaf version.

This is another of the generous samples sent along to me by Two Leaves and a Bud recently. Early on, I can say that I enjoy the fact that this has such a mild jasmine aroma. That’s because this isn’t a scented green, but a green with some jasmine petals in with it.

I brewed the tea related to the specifications on the package and I think it was too long. It said 5 minutes steeping (I did closer to 3 1/2 minutes) and I think it was still too long. There’s a weird after-taste that I’m not particularly fond of. Other than that, the tea itself is pretty light. I like that there is very little jasmine flavor… almost nonexistent, yet enough to be able to tell it’s there if you’re looking for it, I guess.

I’m not explaining this very well, am I?

In any case, I think if brewed a little shorter, this would taste better to me, but overall, it’s just sort of “meh” to me.

You made sense to me.

Haha, thanks, Azzrian. It can be difficult to be coherent sometimes!

But you have to be coherent to be difficult. Unless you’re passed out somewhere impeding someone’s daily progress or sense of well being. :))

I disagree with the steeping advice on almost every package in existence, including several loose tea sellers. Go with your gut.

I’m not usually a big green tea drinker, but this one is quite nice. I found this one at T.J.Maxx for 3 bucks marked down. I buy a lot of my teas that way. What I like about this tea is while it smells and tastes of jasmine, its not overpowering. A&D’s jasmine was way too much jasmine for me. This tea is relaxing and just a little sweet. I get just a little bitterness towards the bottom of the cup but not too much. This is not a tea I would purchase at full price but for the price I payed a good bargain.
The second steep of this tea actually tastes better than the first. No bitterness at all.

TOTALLY off subject, but when we were having the book club discussion I remembered you like Pillars of the Earth and when the TV series showed up on the Netflix instant watch, I suggested we watch it – and now we are HOOKED! Once I finish watching the show, I am definitely going to read the book. Thank you for putting it on my radar!

The funny thing is that the TV series is actually following the book. Some things they leave out but its close.

There is also a sequel “World Without End” that takes place 200 years later with the same families. Both books are a long read, over 1000 pages each.

I can’t wait to read all the details in the books – I do usually read the book first but it this case it happened all backwards Many times a visual adaptation makes me go reread the books – I have a awful cycle where I read Lord of the Rings, which makes me want to see the films again, which makes me want to read he book again, and I repeat the cycle again and again!

I will check out World Without End too! Thank you!

I got this sachet from BrewTEAlly Sweet :)

Not a bad little bagged jasmine! Very much like the kind they serve at good Chinese restaurants. Always welcome in my tea stash ;)

this is a nice tea for the current chilly early spring weather. the floral aroma gets me excited to see spring flowers. the dry leaf and brew have a very strong jasmine scent, but the tea is only subtle in jasmine flavor.A little bit of the grassy green tea comes through. The package says to steep for 5 minutes, but that was too long. the tea was too bitter. i’d say don’t do more than 3 minutes. A simple and refreshing tea.

amandajo sent me this to try…thanks!

It’s a very smooth green tea, with a strong smell of jasmine. The taste isn’t as strong as the smell (which is a very good thing). Definitely one of the better jasmine teas that I’ve had!!

What a wonderful aroma and floral flavor!! A great tea when unwinding after a long day or if you don’t want a lot of caffeine!! Just as great the second steeping!!

This was my wake up tea today. It is indeed very floral; it almost tickles the tongue. The green tea is pleasant, not overtly grassy or overpowering and quite refreshing.

Picked this up from Whole Foods. The kind I purchased is loose leaf, not bagged. It’s probably the best green tea I’ve ever had. I just love the floral flavor; it isn’t overpowering at all. It’s also looks beautiful while steeping.
