It looks like dragonwell, it tastes like a dragonwell, but until I can have a work friend translate the tin (hopefully it’s Chinese on it!), I won’t know for sure. We’re going to roll with dragonwell for the moment though. A friend brought it and some other lovely teas back for me from Singapore. It’s been a long time since I picked up dragonwell, I don’t know why, because I do really enjoy it. Mmmm. Dragonwell!

About to start in on my second cup of dragonwell for the day. So green and lovely, just like all the plants outside where I’d rather be than inside working…

Mmm. After a cherry cobbler this has a distantly smoky taste, not gunpowder smoky, just… distant & lazy. Nice, big round, forest-y (but not pine-y) green today.

The current Dragonwell I have comes from the Essencha tea house in Cincinnati. Dragonwell is my current favorite green Chinese, and this specimen is a fine one. Smelling the leaves, before and after steeping, remind me of chocolate.

Made this with breakfast. Just as it was finished steeping I remembered I’d neglected to brush my teeth and the tea’s flavor will compete with Morning Mouth Nastiness. Unfortunately, taking a moment to brush my teeth would only make things worse. Having tea compete with the flavors of baking soda or cinnamon or wintergreen would definitely be worse.

Ah Dragonwell… The chocolate of teas.

Good batch of leaves (had a cup of it before here at Atlas in Boulder CO) but I let this cup steep too long.

Got this from my aunt in Hong Kong. I have no idea what it says on the tin.
