From Upton Tea Imports

This Assam selection produces a dark cup with a full flavor profile. Notes of cocoa and a delicate caramel hint are combined with a sweet and toasty aroma for an enjoyable cup.

Finished off the last sample of this tonight (after just having it this morning!) because boyfriend only drinks “plain” teas and therefore vetoed my coconut cheesecake honeybush selection (urgh – I’ll have to have that one tomorrow).

At least I get to decupboard something, though I am sad to see this go. It is a very nice “plain” (as my boyfriend would say) black tea.

It’s been forever since I’ve posted! Not good! Anyway, maybe my taste buds are off because of a cold, but I’m not really wowed by this one. It seems rather one-dimensional. I definitely don’t taste any chocolate as the description implies or even the caramel. It’s very thick- almost chewy, but that doesn’t equate with a varying flavor profile. I’ve thought about decreasing the time to three minutes, maybe pick up some more subtle nuances, but I really can’t be too bothered. This tea’s good for a sore throat and that general tea taste, but I won’t be sad to see this sample go.

I’m having this iced tonight. Its bold flavors hold up well to the brisk cool temperature. I can taste the chocolate maltiness, with a touch of sweetness from the 1/4 tsp of sugar I added, bringing out the flavors nicely. I liked this tea hot, and like it even better iced!
