I just received 9 sample teas from Upton. First was the Superfine Dragon Well. I loved it. It is a superb tea….

I couldn’t think of a better way to start the Year Of The Dragon. I made this superfine super strong and it’s a beautiful thing. Enough said. Be well my friends….

I cold brewed this one again. I am using the Pur water filter. The difference in my water is night and day. I left this to steep for 3 days in the fridge and the result is a refreshing and very flavorful brew. It is very uplifting and has given me renewed vigor after a surf in the cold Atlantic….

I am ending the week long celebration of the Chinese New Year with this delicious Lung Ching. Brewed in the Gaiwan the tea is very flavorful and it has one of the finest “empty cup aroma”. This is also perfect after dinner tea. I was completely full after dinner. It’s incredible what this tea does for your digestion. It eases all of the discomfort of overindulgence.
There is a reason why this is one of Chinas Top 10 teas.

I cold brewed this overnight and the results are wonderful. So fresh and full of flavor. The pale liquid is deceiving. The flavor is intense….

I cold-brewed this and the result is very nice. I am getting citrus flavors. Very refreshing and uplifting.

It’s an excellent tea. I brewed it basket western style along side Verdants Dragonwell Style Laoshan Green. Both were given generous amounts of leaf. I brewed for maybe 3 minutes. It had a lovely aroma and flavor. I enjoyed this tea very much. The clear winner was the Verdant. I also noticed the aroma of the Upton in my now empty cup was a subdued pine, spruce, evergreen. A very nice tea….

I think this is the last green tea in my current batch of samples. This one calls for a short steep time and pretty low temperature. The scent while it brews is very rich and making me antsy to try it. Taste wise it is a little on the light side (but not too light), and unmistakably in the green category, but it also has some stuff going on that reminds me of an oolong. It has the buttery- vegetal sencha type notes, but there are also some minerally, lightly floral, almost roasty notes to it that I tend to associate with oolong teas. There is a fleeting aftertaste that is a bit sweet.
